It's sad but we gotta admit the truth folks. Vicky kicky, marngrook or whatever you wanna call it is dying in QLD. It's heyday appears to have come and gone. Dont get me wrong, it'll never die completely, there'll always be a half pumped dusty ol sherrin lying forgotten underneath some kids bed. Right now though, its in a state of dying, bout half way there. Sad but true. Let's be open and talk about it guys, it'll help with the grieving process rather than keeping it all cooped up inside yas.
Me and dave'll talk yas through it and help you forget what it once was like in brissie town

Total AFL attendance in southern QLD in 2010: 329,264. Lions made the semis the year before
Total AFL attendance in southern QLD in 2012: 373,881. Both lions and suns in bottom 4

Jesus they got approx 40k more fans over two years with 2 footy clubs rather than 1! Ahhh and is dave right, at a cost of 200 million?
why that's only a cost of ... What is it now... 5 million dollars a fan
Even our stewie Could work out that that is not sustainable

Once the two clubs start performing, the possibilities are endless. A top 4 Lions get bigger crowds than a bottom 8 Broncos.

Most is establishment costs like a superb new stadium. Once the suns develop a decent team and the lions improve things in qld will be very healthy indeed

Suns made a profit ??? But anyway as I have said from day to day personal experience AFL on the Gold Coast is going pretty well. They have set a target for 20000 members in 3 years which is very ambitious but I think they can do it if they start winning . I'm not sure what is wrong with that statement Dave. If AFL dies off and only has a minor presence In 5 years time I'm not sure how that impacts on me in anyway ? Ill still get to watch it , attend it etc so has no impact on me whatsoever. As the suns own the stadium management rights they're not going anywhere as making profit already. I should add they have to goal of a premiership also in 3 years ... Which is also ambitious ... Lol
