Well done to the Giants on beating the Raiders crowd. We can't look in to this victory too much though as Canberra is a rugby union city and the Raiders are the smallest nRL club.

Drac hasn't dipped into his pocket once for a Midgets game ..... he is a singletball supporter so inclined to lie & misrepresent the truth .. just like the sport he follows does.

the Raiders if they continue on their present path of success on field will leave all other codes in their dust for crowds
they will have the highest average attendance ..
and probably the highest actual attendance ...

& of course they are watched on TV by Canberrans by 3 to 1 over any other team .... & its probably 4 to 1 over any other code
its just something the bumbleballers find hard to swallow
Drac said himself that he can never seem to find free tickets you liar.

How much are Brumbies crowds smashing the arse Raiders at the moment?

You have no proof of Canberra TV ratings overall, as Foxtel don't release ratings for each city. But since more people play union in the ACT and more people go to union games, it's very likely the Brumbies are watched by more than the small Raiders.

well considering they are leading .. not just the Aussie conference , but the entire comp
& leading into the roosters game we were dead last
not that much actually
the Brumbies have had 4 games at home ..including their 2 biggest already against NSW & QLD .. & have attracted 62K
at an average of just 15K... this will drop further as there are no big games left for them.. if they keep it at their 2012 Av of 14K I'll be surprised

the Raiders have had 3 home games attracting 33K fans at an average of 11K a game so far .. with plenty of potential big drawing games to come
You have no proof of Canberra TV ratings overall, as Foxtel don't release ratings for each city
& heres a little insight into what Canberrans like to watch on TV ... 2011 TV figures , last year would have been an even bigger win to RL
FTA ratings here .... nothing changes on pay re whats popular

theres one sport missing here guys :-k

Rugby league helped keep WIN on top in Canberra, where half of the year's 10 highest-rating programs were NRL or State of Origin telecasts.
WIN claimed the capital's most-watched show overall (the NRL grand final) and the most-watched drama (Underbelly Razor).

You didn't say Rugby League. You said Raiders. I note that there wasn't a single Raiders game in the top 10.

unfortunately for you Dave here is how 2012 panned out, but you knew that already and didnt want to post it.

Last week, the AFL Grand Final audience peaked at just over 71,000 viewers in Canberra, and this week’s figures show the NRL Storm vs Bulldogs clash drawing more than 83,000.

http://citynews.com.au/2012/canberra-pr ... al-battle/

NRL was a bit in front but not by a huge margin, it wouldnt take much for AFL to knock NRL off just a GWS grand final appearance.

Didn't the raiders make 2 finals last year? You'd think those would make the top ten if Canberra supports the Raiders as strongly as you say Dave?

Wow, the AFL GF which is shown on Saturday arvo rated 70% of the prime time NRL GF in Canberra! =D> I never realised the AFL was so strong in Canberra.

No wonder fans are jumping on the Giants. Imagine when they start winning regularly.

The raiders have had a 40 year head start and the Giants knock them off after 1 year. Almost as funny as how the Raiders crowds are pretty much identical (10928 in 2012) to what they were in 1982 (10825)!

When the Swans played in Canberra, it sold out Manuka pretty much every time. When the Giants become good and start attracting more interest, sell outs at Manuka will be the norm.

it actually didn't
have a look at the wording cockhead .... it says.... peaked .. the VFL GF peaked ... at 71K
while giving the .. average figure .. for the NRL's GF at 83K ... it peaked at ova 100K

the truth
the VFL Grand Final did not even make the top ..... 20 .. TV shows in Canberra in 2012

OMG this is too funny

while its presentations made it in at 11th on about 74K
the actual game failed to regsiter in the top 20

while RL had its usual 4 in the top 5 .. including the top 2 shows of 2012

the VFL came it at around ... 55K I'm led to believe
roughly the same figure as both Raiders NRL finals last year

Presentations up there with the game itself not far behind. Just out of the top 20. Not far behind the RL grand final and the SOO 3. GWS will only close this gap, with a bigger stadium, GWS would already be in font of he raiders in terms of crowds. The fear is strong in GWSdave.

yes :-k
a 10 minute show with a throphy handed out is .. up there with the 2.5 hours of the game
embrace the reality... in Canberra , Its RL .... & thats it.

that 55K average for the VFL GF is with the Swines in it & it still was 50% behind the NRL's .. if they weren't in it . 8-[ F me it would be embarrasing beyond words.
No Wonder Prime TV refused .... refused to cover VFL live on its main channel on Fridays in Canberra before the digital channels arrived .. they simply said it was ratings poison when up against the NRL. & they weren't wrong.

a Raiders GF would outrate the 110K mark the biggest shows have attracted in the last few years , & more then double any VFL GF ... with any team in it
no question.
here endith the lesson.

I didn't think it was questionable as to whether act was a rugby leauge area ?? I thought there was an untapped supporter base for the Aussie rules though which is shown by the ratings and crowd figures . I guess the aim is to grow this. So bit unsure what the argument is apart from a bit of stirring and stick jabbibg
