BTW spewie last years game got 38k at ANZ, that is a drop of 16k...............staggering... :-k
its astounding eels

I tried to warn them
I'd heard through a mate who works for the stadium mid last week
he said its a ghost town for ticket sales .... theres nothing doing ... zip

Then Andy Ididaphoo also flagged a dissapointing turnout was imminent armed with the above same info

but these delusional fuckheads ... just ploughed on with ridiculous suggestions about what the crowd would be
they are just clueless

Ol Raider taught them a lesson again ... as he always does
and it was free of charge
no thanks required

The giants got a crowd 8k over the NRL average in Sydney,
& 40K under what a VFL game was attracting there just a few years back
VFL in Sydney .... in decline

you guys would know what playing in front of empty seats, the NRL would be rapt with that many , seeing that there are usually 70,000 or 75,000 empty seats, at ANZ
23 k to the game is a good result as it was more than last year!
if the storm got 23k to a home game, oh hang on they never have, that's even after winning premierships and the world championship!

Whilst I'm disappointed more of my fellow Swans fans didn't show (pathetic how many I know who hate ANZ and refuse to go), we still saw a bigger crowd for the AFL in Sydney last night than the local derby in the NRL last night.

BTW, was talking to some mates last night at the game who said they also went to Bulldogs vs Souths after getting free tickets at the Easter Show on Good Friday. Apparently NRL staff were handing out thousands of free tickets all day at the show.

Swans home games got 60k. Great effort by the giants members and swans supporters in a 1st v last game.

Isnt that more than any NRL home and away game in Sydney? :-k

midgets staff were also handing out freebies to the battle of the boggers at the easter show bearsy .... like confetti ... all week apparently

& this was the case to both games last year as well when they were played.
free tickets for school children ... & the family & fiends of Skoda employees , & in the end it was anyone with a pulse
& yet yesterday they still couldn't get to HALF of the 52K turnout for the NRL

& as for the sthn derby last night
a ground ova 60K capacity smaller then ANZ .... was 95% full with ova 20K fans

& you want to compare that
to the garbage ... inflated with freebies & stadium members .. crowd for the battle of the bumbling baboons
which was
a passionless
morbid
atmosphere less
game that essentially no one gave a fuck about

to the heaving crackling intensity at Shark Park ... the Dragons causing a huge upset in a great game

Victorian rules is all but dead in Sydney
yesterdays crowd .... the proof

Yeah, a smaller number of swans supporters than normal were there because 1. It was an away game so their membership doesn't get them in, and 2. The match was last v first and expected to be a smashing like a first v last game almost always is.

What incentive was there for swans fans to pay general admission to watch an uncompetitive game?

All large crowds at ANZ have been swans home games v big Victorian club in games expected to be quality.

Yesterday's game definitely didnt fit any of those descriptions. What it did do was beat last years crowd =D>
