I thought it'd be about 8k on a monday night bottom of the table clash. Anyone know the official crowd?

Eels, I'm sure the bet was either a three month avatar or the entire off season avatar bet. I'll hunt it down if drac cant remember it...

Hmm, lets see. Giants are 1 year old, playing in a small non heartland city, and against an equally small interstate club.

The NRL local derby involved 2 Sydney teams playing in Sydney and one was the NRLs equivalent of Collingwood apparently

I think I need a couple of washed out games at Penrith, before all hope is lost lol.

Crows at Skoda next week will bring a couple of thousand fans to see the stadium for the first time.

The Roar...

AFL NSW ACT of course will built it up as a rivalry to get more fans through the gate.

Footyrhino... 8-[

Calling these two teams rivals just because they're the two newest teams in the comp is absurd. It's like calling Fremantle and Port Adelaide rivals 15 years ago when those two were the newest teams in the AFL. Sure there were some similarities, but rivals? Lord no.

Drac do you remember the location where we made this wager? It'd prob be handy to have the actual wager in this thread. :)

You happy with this? I'm still not 100% sure I'm keen to bet on this one as it would be an amazing feat if the Panthers could win it. I mean they've got so much stacked against them in this.

1. Location - Penrith vs Homebush
2. Competition for crowds - Penrith vis a vis all other Sydney RL clubs - GWS vis a vis the Swans
3. Crowd culture - Everyone knows RL looks great on TV while marngrook doesnt quite cut it on the big screen

But still this one could be close, such is the dominance of RL in sydney :)
Deal. The Giants aren't without their disadvantages:

1. Only 1 game against a local team to bring "away" fans, vs 5 for the Panthers.
2. Giants have 3 games at a 10k seat stadium in Canberra.
3. Giants are a 2 year old AFL team in League heartland, Panthers are a 47 year old League club in League heartland.

Giants will still win.
Alright drac lets do this bet but I'd like to reduce the wager because I'm scared I could lose. And how do we obtain the figures?

how about avatars just 'till the end of the year (so Sept 1- Dec 31). We'll go by official crowd figures, as that's all we can go by. There looked to be well under 10k people at Penriff on the weekend, but the official figure is 10,882, so i'll accept it.

Thanks Beaussie.

Drac, I'm no longer scared I could lose so let's stick to the original and only wager (to the best of my knowledge) set. Sometimes, forgive me, I just dont have the faith inand knowledge of RL particulars like crowds that the other RL fans on this site do.

Kind regards,
King
