They were down by an average of more than 3000 per game or nearly 10 per cent, yet subscription and free to air figures remained strong. Swans crowds also fell despite their grand final triumph because of the SCG's refurbishment that cut ground capacity.

Busting 3 of Raiderdave's myths in one article:
1. Swans drop in crowd wasnt due to SCG renovations
2. AFL drop in crowd average wasnt due to two new teams
3. AFL tickets are the cheapest in Australian sport

this entire article was nothing more then a setup to but but but away the VFL's plumetting crowds & more importantly the Swines dramatic 33% decline in the last 6 years
afterall .... the reno's only occured last year
whats the excuse for the other 5 years of success ... but continuing crowd decline & falling interest in the victorian game in Sydney
the VFL are playing 22 games more then 3 years ago
but have lost 360K fans
in relative terms , when you add the attendances of these 22 games to the overall attendances ... & you are STILL 360K down
well
its actually a lot worse
this situation can only be explained with one word
dying
