My favourite lines.

InterviewerL "Is that doc reid you're talking about?"

McVeigh "Yeah absolutely. Theres no way any player wouldve taken anything unless the doctor said 'no dont touch it'"

 Freudian slip much?

McVeigh: "To say that i didnt know what was going into my body is absolutely ridiculous, I think. In my opinion it is ridiculous." I think? In my opinion? the poor man doesnt have a clue what the doctors and trainers were forcing him to take. :_<>
That doctor is extremely well respected in AFL circles. He's been part of the club for 30 odd years. I refuse to believe he would have knowingly fed PEDs to his players.

I don't care what you say. That just isnt possible.

The biggest claim Reimers made was that he was made to sign a waiver. McVeigh explained it perfectly, stating it actually explained that the supplements were legal and cleared by WADA and the AFL. ASADA have collected these documents as evidence.

In explaining this McVeigh has implicated the AFL, ESSENDON, and their staff. I refuse to believe he would do that if he didnt know the truth about their innocence.
:?> Yes you're prob right. If he knew anything he would have kept his trap shut. But he knew nothing. Any detective worth their training, or anyone who aint blindfreddy, can tell mcveigh had no idea what the hell was going on! He basically says it straight out in his lil interview
The Essendon captain has come out and confirmed exactly what McVeigh has said. Supplements were checked with ASADA, WADA, the AFL, and the club medical staff.

Sports SEN and listeners are now turning on the ridiculous media frenzy which blew a nothing story up into a circus.

And you gumbies fell for it as usual! What a surprise!

This is an independant report:
We've worked with the crime commission in the last week or so and information has come forward for NRL specifically that affects more than one player and more than one club," said Smith at a Canberra press conference where the CEOs from all the major sporting codes were present.

Bookies ban betting on AFL opener

Australian bookmakers have suspended betting on the opening match of the AFL season between Adelaide and Essendon.

The Bombers have been at the centre of controversy this week after the AFL and the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Agency (ASADA) launched an investigation into the use of supplements at the club.

Thursday's release of the Australian Crime Commission report into drugs in sport in Australia has revealed an instance of team-based doping at at least one unnamed club, with speculation that Essendon could be that club.

The Adelaide Crows will play Essendon at Football Park in Adelaide on Friday March 22 to kick off the 2013 premiership season.

As of Friday morning, a series of leading online bookmakers had removed the game from their websites or stated that betting was suspended.

Tattsbet has also suspended so-called "AFL futures" betting, predicting which sides will make the top four, the final eight, who will win the minor premiership and the wooden spoon.

The only futures betting still available is on the Premiership itself - Essendon is listed as $15 to win the flag, compared to $4 for favourites Hawthorn.

Sportsbet.com.au has removed the Adelaide v Essendon game from its website, and has removed Essendon from its futures betting markets - all other clubs are unaffected.

Sportingbet has also removed the Crows - Bombers game from its website, but it has Essendon in most futures markets, except for betting on the team missing the top eight.

No official reason has been given on the websites for the suspension.
