Personally I think the AFL might have made a mistake putting the giants in both West Sydney and Canberra. It should have been one or the other. I think this will probabaly change after the Canberra contract is up.
The contract has 9 years to go and a lot can happen in that 9 years. The Giants playing games in Canberra was a good deal for the AFL and GWS as the ACT Govt are paying them $26 million odd over the 10 years to play games there. If in 5 years GWS are playing good footy and are finals bound, there's no doubt they will sell out Manuka Oval. Once the contract expires, GWS should have enough sustainable support in western Sydney and won't need Canberra for home games and extra $, so the AFL could schedule the Giants to play away games there against the likes of the Western Bulldogs like the Swans used to.

if this
if that
if they

what happens

if
they don't ..............?

if ..... fans in western sydney & canberra have to wait 5 years
they'll be no ifs

it WILL be ova .....

Well the NRL isn't! The only reason it appears that way is because the Victory have access to Etihad! If they were restricted like we are we'd be ahead of the A-League! The Storm is ahead of the Heart anyway, and they play at AAMI Park as well!!

The Midgets are last for support in Sydney. Concentrate on that, and accept it as fact.
So on your logic the Giants should be ahead of all nRL teams but theyre restricted to a smaller stadium which affects their crowds..... :D
I don't know what Skoda Stadium is like so there's no way I could say anything about that.

What the Victory dwarfs the storm.    If you grew up in Melbourne then you know for a fact that soccer is No.2 here.
The only reason for that is because they have access to Etihad and we don't! If it was a level playing field you'd be singing a different song!

The Victory move games to Etihad that they think have a chance of exceeding the capacity of AAMI Park. Given that no Storm games this year went even close to approaching the capacity of AAMI Park (30,000), I really don't understand your logic?

If it was at Etihad we would have got more fans coming!! Our average would have gone up! AAMI Park is a $hit venue. Only Olympic Park was worse.

Why is AAMI park a shit venue? Is it because it doesn't have 55k like Etihad does? AAMI Park is a rectangular shaped stadium which suits rugby, Etihad is obviously oval with retractable seats but they still don't make up the difference. It seems no matter where the Storm play, whether it be AAMI Park, Olympic Park or Etihad which was their home in 2001 with an average crowd of 11k (just 2 years after their GF win as well!) the crowds just don't show up for them.

2001 was when Etihad's surface was at it's worst, but we could have built up from there. Only the AFL kicked us out!!

AAMI Park is a $hit venue because it's exposed when it rains worse than any venue you care to name, except for Olympic Park! Players might like it, but spectators DON'T!

Ever seen AAMI stadium in Adelaide? Or Subiaco? Or the Gabba? Or the MCG? Or the old Waverley park? Sure they have some cover but a huge proportion of the crowd is exposed with no cover. Hasnt seemed to have stopped these fans.

According to the fans on the website I showed only the front 10-15 rows are exposed. That would be consistent with every outdoor ground.

Add to the fact that poor weather only affects a proportion of home games, AAMI park is purpose built rectangular stadium with great atmosphere, and the storm cannot even afford to play at Etihad, your logic is hilarious.

The only venue I've seen of those is the MCG and Waverley, and I'm not surprised they got rid of Waverley because it was bad as well! They didn't call it Arctic Park for nothing you know! The G is better than AAMI Park for cover. 10 to 15 rows my arse! The entire side is exposed on east and west to even a breeze in their faces - and add rain and there's nowhere to hide!

The Storm can afford Etihad. We just can't get in there because the AFL don't want us there!

Every ground has that problem, including the MCG! If the wind is blowing the stand facing the wind is exposed. But the other side should be totally covered. Youre alone in your hate of AAMI park. Most people love it.

Its a shocking excuse. The fact the storm averaged less fans when they played at Etihad shows youre full of shite.
