Xman the only way to make KE see sense is to bash him up I'm afraid. He's too stupid to see the truth - or he hates AFL so much that he's willing to lie about it. The proof of what I said lies in the fact that no legal action has been taken against Melbourne for throwing games, and the AFL has taken no action because they know there's no tanking going on. Like I said - what Bailey admitted to doing was and is not tanking. It's up to KE to prove that it is with PROPER evidence and not misleading opinion drummed up by the media.

Which of course he can't do and he's too scared to admit it.

That is all.

TLPG you miss the finer points of organisational administration. It would be suicide for the AFL or melbourne to come clean about such a shameful practice. Often much is kept under wraps in organisations as they really dont like to share their dirty linen. Wikileaks is a prime example of highlighting this. This is fairly normal though and sometimes necessary although in some instances it really is unethical i.e. in the case of tanking we may have thousands of fans paying good money to turn up to games leaving downhearted as their team loses time and time again. Whilst all the while the club has alterior motives and cares little about what the current fans are feeling but more about the future of the club. Politics and shadiness TLPG my dear friend, its a part of life and is prevalent in professional sport of all kinds. Your blind faith in the AFL is cute TLPG and Xman. Cute but ignorant and silly. Melbourne are most likely under the close scrutiny of internal officials and clearly external officials as the media reports.

Its a real worry and there is ample evidence, clear and loud suggesting that tanking is a very real thing within the AFL. Work must be done to stop it and thankfully work is being done to stop it. We must not stand by idly doling our blind faith to the AFL like TLPG and Xman. They, most likely, are members of clubs and therefore have a stake in this matter which makes it all the more disappointing they choose not to listen to and obsereve the evidence.

Thankyou, that is all. :pig:

I already have. But one more time for the dummies. The shocking results, which are out of sync with other sporting comps and the norms of competition. The admission by Bailey and others. The investigations that are currently or will soon be underway. The fans calls for change. All this is evidence suggesting tanking is rife.

You disappoint me Xman. [-X

For the betterment of the code we must discuss these serious issues rather than turn a blind testicle eye.

Bailey never admitted to throwing games. he admitted to developing the team ahead of short term success.

Fans and the AFL chose to change the rule due to the speculation, and rightly so.

There have already been investigations into tanking and they found no conclusive proof. http://www.theaustralian.com.au/sport/w ... 6108538420

Your rife comment is farcicle. The priority pick has only applied to a handful of clubs ever.

Wow great article Xman.

I never knew Bailey said this. "
I had no hesitation at all in the first two years in ensuring the club was well placed for draft picks.
"I was asked to do the best thing by the Melbourne Football Club and I did it. I put players in different positions."
   [-X [-X [-X

Sheezus bejesus, its clear as day now. That's all the evidence one needs. Xman I'm disappointed in you for not seeing the clear evidence here of tanking at the MElb football club. [-X

You're misinterpretation the comments which have been discussed thoroughly, understood and explained repeatedly. He played players in positions to develop the team, not lose deliberately.

Not good when you are negotiating a new broadcast deal. The fans are switching off in droves. No one at the ARLC seems to be listening either.

Care to comment throwball fans?
Rugby league pundits have called on David Gallop to quash the epidemic of negative tactics plaguing today's game - and Fox Sports commentator Brett Kimmorley says the game's boss should start with the dead-ball rule.

Kicking for space and field position was once an art form mastered by the likes of Darren Lockyer and Andrew Johns.

But while the ploy might be privately applauded by some coaches, it's frustrating fans and making some matches almost unwatchable - not ideal at a time when the NRL is attempting to sell itself as a $1 billion television product.

Friday night's clash between St George Illawarra and Newcastle saw Jamie Soward - one of the best kickers in the game - opt to belt the ball dead and concede 20-metre restarts, rather than risk dealing with potent ball-runners Akuila Uate and Darius Boyd.

As a result, the second half deteriorated into what Kimmorley described as "boring".

"The Dragons took Uate and Boyd out of the game by kicking it dead and in the end we saw 20 minutes of no one playing football," Kimmorley said.

"You don't have to be a very good kicker to kick the ball dead every time. To be able to put the ball into a corner or have it go over the sideline takes a fair bit more skill.

"Anyone can kick it dead."

Kimmorley suggested the ARL Commission look at changing the rule for the good of the game.

But along with grappling, wrestling and breaching the defensive 10 metres, the new ploy of intentionally kicking the ball dead has become yet another tactic adopted by teams to slow down the game and reduce the variables.

His comments were investigated and explained.
I asked Dean yesterday exactly what he meant by his comments, and what he said he meant was that he did play players out of their position as part of their development, guys like Mark Jamar playing forward and Neville Jetta on the ball," Anderson said on 3AW

"He also said he meant that they allowed senior players to leave the club and get draft picks in return and pursue those draft picks.

"He also said at all times he believed the players were playing to the utmost of their ability.
http://www.heraldsun.com.au/AFL/more-ne ... 6105962701

Dean Bailey let a number of senior players like McDonald go in his first two years as coach. He then played junior players on those positions. This was done to accelerate the development of the team and position the list so they could take on new draft picks.

Issue explained and over!

Even the AFL are changing the way the draft pick works due to tanking.

Why would they change the current draft system if there wasn't a problem of teams tanking, wake up NEO the matrix/AFL has got you lawl
