Any of you AFL fans have an opinion on whats happened here?
Imagine the AFL scheduling games in NSW so the maximum number of AFL fans get a chance to watch the game live!

Plenty of AFL fans in Melbourne attend games other than their own team.
Wow that's interesting, so your saying is that AFL really isn't as big as it seems.... =D> =D> Get a life really lmfao nothing better to do but attend every game at the MCG
You do realize that the MCC, access one and AFL members get access to multiple games a week. I've heard that there are similar arrangments for ANZ stadium. But seriously, few NRL supporters go to even one game a week, let alone a few!

A fairly shameful turnout for gws but we shouldnt really expect any different for this new club settling in to RL Heartland. IMO there's little chance for gws if they hang out at homebush, a mere 15k from the swans territory. No i think they should tough it out at blacktown and slowly build their membership in a place which can honestly be called Greater Western Sydney. On my time out at this venue i quite loved sitting on the grass watching the sunset go down in the background. Its a lovely venue and is really all this team can expect to half fill when they are not playing the swans. For mine playing gws at homebush is another foolish poorly thought out move by the AFL.
Just did some research, Skoda stadium is at the revamped showgrounds, wow that's in Swans Territory why would you have GWS home ground so close to the Swans and so far from Western Sydney?
How exactly is Homebush Swans territory? Why would the AFL base a team at Blacktown and force fans from as far away as Campbelltown, Camden, Liverpool, Fairfield, Bankstown etc to travel out to a ground where 99% of the fans have to sit on the grass.
Ahh the swans play several of their games at homebush each year. And homebush is only 15km from the swans other ground the scg.

The AFL should develop the blacktown stadium and make a home which is separate to the swans turf so they can build real membership numbers and following. Right now why would folk from blacktown and penrith bother to go to a gws game which each week is not played in greater western sydney?

And absolute stuffup from the AFL. They still have the chance to change it, and i certainly hope they do. Greater Western Sydney pfffft.

As usual, wrong again. The Swans play just 2 games at Homebush as of this season and the ground is over 22km from the SCG.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Why would fans from Campbelltown, Camden, Fairfield and Bankstown amongst other areas in the GWS catchment area travel all the way out to Blacktown/Rooty Hill to sit on a grassy hill. Wake up to yourself stupid.

As for your last comment... South Sydney Rabbitohs playing home games at ANZ Stadium Homebush... pffttt

Actually its 18.9km by road, therefore itd be about 15 km as the bird flies beaussie. Please dont lie to your members like that again. Its not fair on the innocent ones.

Now when we look at the rst of your cods wallop about the south west sydney fans. Who cares, they can get their own team. Sydney is a big city beaussie and the AFL trying to satisfy all of western sydney by putting a team near a duitable train station is not how clubs and supporters/members of clubs has ever been built before. It just doesnt work that way. A very foolish move and yes souths playing at homebush is silly also. The nrl with help from the govt should develop redfern oval into a stadium for souths.

Um no, I used google maps and got over 22kms from the SCG to ANZ Stadium. And moron, we don't fly like birds to football games. #-o

Well youre goin the long way beaussie. I typed in anz this time instead of homebush and you can get 18.7km. Even closer than first thought.

And the AFL has tried too hard on this one. Imposible to please everyone.

I honestly dont know why they did it eels. Beaussie says its so they can provide access for more people on the train line from south west syd but to me the team must be established within its own region first and formeost rather than established on another teams turf so people can access it. You cant have a team located betwixt and between so people can get a train in. This means the club is based in no mans land and therefore loses the real essence and grounding of its own home soil. The head honchos down at AFL HQ seem to have overlooked this fundamental aspect of support for a team.
I am more worried for the Swans, this team is now going to take some of their supporter base away from them. Even the CEO of the Swans is bitter toward the AFL for doing this and i can now see why. 35 Years of hard work put in by the Swans just to have the AFL do this to them, bloody disgraceful. I know the swans are getting 1 million a season to have this happen but that is peanuts on the gate revenue they will potentially loose
I know that the Swans fans will turn up to skoda for GWS games and the crowd will be decent out there but isn't the point of GWS to build greater western Sydney AFL? As the arangment stand atm with skoda as home ground all you are doing is sugar coating the game with decent crowds witch will make it look good on Tv but in the end your not actually building support out west more getting swans Fans to follow 2 teams.
Not many people from Blacktown are going to make the 1h30min train ride to the venue to watch the game. I have done this trip and its is horrible especially at night when some unsavory characters are on the trains.
so the top 5 worst crowds for the NRLOL this season in NSW
3622k
5122k
5662k
6308k
6721k

NRLOL heart land! all this season! established team 50, 60,70 years old :(/ :)))
