AFL/vfl haven't won for years.

And the only reason they started to win after 1996 is the fact they had more FTA games on tv each week shown nation wide. That just shows how well RL rates really, they have less games on FTA and only shown in half the country.

I'm sure another 200k at least from all the other states on a Friday or Sunday for RL would also increase our winning margin over the season. That's a few extra million viewers a year.

The NRLs FN game rates, but as we know, CH9 schedule the best live game for 12 million people each week by having a QLD and NSW team play.

The AFL have never followed this model, and never can given they have teams in 5 cities, across 3 time zones. WA get FN games telecast after the game has finished.

The comparison has been impossible. This year will be interesting though.

Nice excuse, but why then when 1 game on a friday night last year was shown a few times did we still win?

Why did RL win most Sundays this season without a qld club in sight?

Huh? huh? huh? :^o

because its a combination of factors. Your 9.30 game shows why. People dont want to watch a game thats on very late especially when it doesnt involve their team and especially when the game has already finished. Yet for almost half of the AFL's audience this is the case every FN.

Again, a number of factors, demonstrated by the shocking ratings of your 9.30 game, which are essentially the same conditions as our main game: late, delayed, non targetted, inflexible schedule.

Why else does you 9.30 game rate so badly? Do Sydney/Brisbane people turn in to pumpkins at 9.30pm?

you know TV audiences are averaged out don't you ... in 15min increments i believe
I'd say the 3rd hour of most FN flogball games wouldn't rate that much better then the 1st hour of the 2nd NRL FNF game

I'd say its pretty poor too ...

The facts are there, even when you had live alf.vfl last year on FNF, RL still won.

Come on, what excuse are you going to use now?

Exactly

they claim we target our markets on Fridays

yet when we showed games to both Sydney & Brisbane (NSW/QLD) at the same time
what did we get
whopping ratings .... up to 1.4 Million ... for a club game 8-[ .... the AFL can't get that for a final

theres that argument ... out the door

Yeah funny that! When the AFL is on at 8.30pm it doesnt start the thrid quarter until nearly 10pm. Do you think that effects the ratings especially when they're averaged? Of course it does! Especially for people playing sport or working early the next day. This is one of the main reasons the 7.30pm games rate better.
