they offer **** ... they ... get nothing

hottest sporting commodity on TV in Aust tis the NRL
it will demand ... & get .. one Billion bucks
You lot will end up with no interest demonstrating arrogance like that above. Clearly what the NRL and you have in mind is not as valuable to the ones with the money... the broadcasters.

Take note sunshine.
CONSOLIDATED Media Holdings has raised questions about the value of some sports rights, warning that the pay-television industry will not overpay for the NRL rights amid market concerns about earnings growth at Fox Sports.

"I don't think there is any appetite at Fox Sports to hand vast additional cheques for no extra value. Unless (incumbent broadcaster) Channel 9 has got much, much deeper pockets than we all believe, then I think the prices that have been talked about with NRL remain confusing."

Oh and as for News Ltd no more. Think again dopey. News Ltd have the first and lasts bid rights to the NRL until 2027

You got what you deserved for whoring yourself out for a cash injection from News Ltd. They now own you lot until 2027.

2027 again for the dummies.
NRL sources confirmed Rupert Murdoch’s News Ltd, which will give its 50 per cent share of the NRL to the Australian Rugby League when the code’s new independent commission is set up later this year, has a first and last bid deal covering all media rights.

The deal runs until 2027 and was part of the NRL partnership agreement between News Ltd and the ARL.

“Premier wants more NRL matches but it is not going to pay 109 per cent more to get them,” said one TV executive. “Nine wants to keep its NRL rights, given the strong ratings NRL generates in NSW and Queensland but like Premier, it isn’t going to cop an outrageous increase.”

first & last rights are broken as soon as you lose your rights
as has been stated clearly .... several times

if the offer is not good enough .. it won't be accepted
& foxtel can go whistle dixy & take their first & last rights with them

no longer do we have to accept what the news owned foxtel offer us

we can now say
thanks ... but no thanks

no on cares what some TV exec says
if they don't pay what the NRL wants .... they can tell their story walking too

Nine will be just about gone by 2017 if they don't get the NRL rights .... they'll have no major sport for weekends in winter
they will .... will have to find double the dollars they pay now

I suspect 7 will try n put an end to ch 9 by trying to take the NRL off them ....
a mortal blow to 9 that would be .. & revenge for what 9 did to 7... in the last lot of deals .... Stokes is still seething

exciting times for RL

a billion plus on its way

Wrong. Seven still had the first and last rights call on the AFL even after Nine took it off them for the time they did.

No News Ltd/Foxtel = No NRL

FTA TV to take all overpriced NRL games in the absence of Foxtel being involved? Tell em his dreaming.

Optus Now perhaps in light of the recent court judgement I hear you say... Hmm, game has to be broadcast first to allow that. hahaha

1 billion dreams shattered. Nawwww, sad isn't it.

Won't get it. Either lower the price, or get no coverage.

we'll get what we want ....... or TV stations won't get the country's hottest sporting commodity

No NRL.... No Foxtel

would fold within 5 years
RL states hold 65% of subscriptions .... & most in these states have Foxtel .. for the NRL

if it were somewhere else
Foxtels customer service section would be in meltdown with people cancelling their subscriptions

big bikkies coming our way

look out if they don't

Except they will still only have 5 exclusive games since 4 will be directly against FTA. It will be interesting to see the results.

who'd choose to watch add ridden games ova add free games

foxtel are expecting squillions of subscriptions in the **** states ... now they have all 9 games on
so I'd expect the FTA ratings to suffer
not the other way round

thats of course if the pay subscription rates have sky rocketed down in lar lar land
& I hear the results to date have been most ... underwhelming :-k

"you hear"? Is the the Raider's receptionist again?

Of course people will prefer the ad free version, but subscriptions may take a season or so to meet full potential. AFL coverage on FTA is still excellent and way above NRL's nationally.

Oh what a lot of rot! The majority of Foxtel subscribers want the unique general programming and Main Event!
