I've mentioned this a few times elsewhere and nobody believes it because of the lack of attendance records for the SFL but I clearly remember a newspaper article that mentioned a Campbelltown/North Shore game outdrew a West's game.NSWAFL wrote:Western Suburbs actually had trouble at one point competing with the Campbelltown AFC when they were strong in the Sydney AFL competition.
In hindsight, yes. If Easts and North Shore had Joined Campbelltown at Canberra or Campbelltown had remained in the SAFL things could have been very different. The first privately owned AFC was none other than Campbelltown.NSWAFL wrote:I've always felt the Blues made a mistake shifting to the ACTAFL for a couple of years even if it meant going to a stronger competition.
so the magpies drew 75... & the 2nd divison derpball drew 76 ?cos789 wrote:NSWAFL wrote:

The GWS might not be a tsunami but they sure are spooking some NRL people.Wests Tigers' choice of headquarters at Concord, and the NRL's insistence clubs be known by emblems, reinforces this. But the rise of a common enemy - the AFL's Greater Western Sydney franchise - has alarmed directors of both Balmain and Wests, particularly due to the Giants' decision to play in Tigers colours.
