All the politicians from the AFL states support an AFL team. Kevin Rudd, a Queenslander, is a Lions fan. You were more likely to see him at the Gabba than at Suncorp. Sydneysiders like Howard and Keating would naturally have a bit of NRL in them, but I know that Howard respected the Swans even if he'd sooner go to Kogarah.
