No I think because of their support in the New South Wales and Queensland bush it'll be Aurora, not C31.AFL Warrior wrote:The NRL will soon be begging Channel 31 to screen their rubbish product!
Foxtel considers Rugby League a downmarket product
Re: Foxtel considers Rugby League a downmarket product
Rugby League has a lying culture. Altering crowd figures, relying on inaccurate TV figures from regional NSW and refusing to distance itself from Leagues Clubs and obtain it's own club memberships as it relies on LC's to survive as private entities.

RL is a bigger sport than AFL, if your code dies, it's dead period, if my code dies out here, I'll watch the game from other countries.

The NRL is the strongest r-league in the world. If it dies the game will die. To say that RL is bigger than AFL is highly contentious.

Re: Foxtel considers Rugby League a downmarket product
WTF?
There are Leagues that have been going for over 100 years in other countries, they have their own TV deals with everything that goes with it and and are in the top 5 sports in their country know all know nothing.
That is why the game of RL has managed to survive in places like France where it was banned and had its name changed while Union were given all it assets from a nice mob called the Nazis.
And if you think the AFL comes anywhere near RL as a global sport, you have rocks in your head.

Haha, if the Nazis and Union haven't been able to kill RL over the last 100+ years in certain countries, the death (LOL) of RL in Australia would have stuff all impact. The players would just end up playing in other Leagues.

Re: Foxtel considers Rugby League a downmarket product
I admit to making a typo. I should have said "To say that RL is bigger than AFL is highly contentious." I am speaking on a worldwide scale as well as Australian. At present I would suggest the two are equal without any real knowledge of the volume of presence at a local level.
But the strength of RL is in Australia. If it dies, RU will swamp it in an instant because it is bigger in the other countries especially in it's home in England.

You just proved me right. The NRL dies, the game collapses because it will be swamped by Union.
