Raiderdave says "ok i will make up another figure and say that is how man people supports rugby league teamsin Sydney".

So if the average Sydney rugby league team has 190k fans that means that less than 7% of those fans are going to watch the games live lol WTF????. That is horrendous, what type of fans are these? This is a great example of the difference between the codes. One has a strong future with real fans and a signed TV deal, the other has 14/16 broke clubs (even though they supposedly have 190k fans each lol).

I think what is really happening is a bunch of bored Sydney people have nothing better to do with their time so they just watch a game of league on TV. Then RaiderDave likes to say these are fanatical Rugby League fans. Yeah right lol. Keep living in your dream land.
ah
its only about 12% for AFL fans you complete dipshit
hardly anything to start stroking the salami over is it ..... but then you don't need much of an excuse do you ? :(/ :(/ :_<> :(/ :_<>
No need to get aggressive! Though I guess you did just realise that even with the advantage of your own made up formula... AFL is still twice the sport league is /smashed.
oh but it is isn't

this assumption by boggerball fans that because more moronic Victorians are prepared to attend games ( they seriously have nothing else to do ) , then Sydneysiders do.. then this MUST be proof of their code being more popular

what snot
AFL clubs in Melbourne have hardly anymore support then NRL clubs in Sydney

& TV is the proof
almost identical numbers of eyes watch both codes in both cities ...
Brisbanites watch NRL in numbers about equal to Perth & Adelaide combined

& the NRL's regional veiwership .. nearly twice that of the AFL's ... tips the popularity scale to it as proof definitive .. that it is the Countrys Numb one sport.
a very bitter pill for singletball fans to swallow I know
they see 90K fans at the G for a game ... & just assume thats an indicator & their sport MUST be numb one as a result
yet barely anyone outside of Victoria gives a flying rats f@rt about it
thats what fumbleball fans don't seem to understand ... for every Australian who prefers feebleball as a sport , theres one & a tiny bit .. that prefers Rugby League
thems the facts ... this isn't in dispute

K

Every AFL fans watches the grand final, every league fan watches the league grand final and then you have substantial crossover between the two. This is why the Grandfinal’s are the best judge of which sport is more popular, it is the only head to head comparison, everything else is apples and oranges.

And only 1 win??? Come on Dave these lies have to stop. Might want to go back and see a few round by round comparisons. Not to mention how nine cherry picks the highest rating games every week, how many times were the Raiders and Cronulla the two most unpopular teams on nine this year????!

You are welcome to stay in my thread but you gotta stop making stuff up Dave, its wasting both of our time.

hmmmm interesting

so tell me .... every League fan also watched the 3rd state of origin this year

it attracted 3.8 Million veiwers
some 400K more then the AFL Grand Final ...is your theory in work here ?

& I would seriously doubt the AFL attracted more TV veiwers then the NRL more then 3 or 4 times during the H&A rounds ...... during season 2011

the AFL took the metro ratings nearly every week
( so they should .. they get one extra game on FTA every week & are shown in prime time in the 5 capitals to the NRL's 2)

but were slaughtered in the regionals ...& on pay TV ... not only making up the difference .. but putting the NRL in front
a bitter pill
but please .. take your medicine , you are obviously in need of something to cure this serious afliction you are suffering from

theres a good lad

I don't think you got got my point. I will ask you a question and it will help you work it out. If the AFL grand final was on the same time as soo which would get higher national tv ratings?

the SOO quite obviously
& Im not sure what that has to do with anything

the flogball GF was on at the very best time of the week .. up against no other programs on a Sat arvo .. seriously nothing at all
quite obviously the AFL are trying to maximise their ratings by hiding their GF away from " real" opposition on TV , it would not stand up against proper programming & the AFL know this

the NRL GF had a lot more tough opposition on Sunday evening .. from news telecasts , current affairs programs etc
the SOO up against prime time mid week programming ... other stations threw everything at SOO .. including master chef
& it still nearly cracked 4 million

so again
your point was what exactly ? #-o ](*,) :-k

Who cares about International rules, AFL is an Australian game played by Australians. If you NRL fools are not loyal to this country then bugger off overseas and then the Natives can take their country back.

Yet still we see bigger crowds than the NRL outside of Victoria and in particular in NSW and QLD. Go figure eh? Get back to us when any NRL team can match the AFL with 70k+ crowds in Sydney. Never gonna happen, especially in Melbourne where the average NRL crowd is less than 10k. :_<>

Think TV cannot be trusted. The official sources for tv ratings in Australia - OzTAM and AGBNielsen show different figures. I'll stick with them thanks.
