hmmmmBeaussie wrote:Um, update time. State of Origin will NOT be at Etihad Stadium next season. The game is scheduled for the 30k capacity AAMI Park according to article I posted in the OP. Surely a sign of popularity on the decline yeah.Raiderdave wrote:Yeah , the smaller Etihad has been sold out once & near sold out on the 2nd occasionKing-Eliagh wrote:Yes interesting thought TLPG especially with that 1997 crowd. But I gotta say that there's improvement in the latter games.
But if I were running the NRL I would also steer clear of the MCG because as I said the atmosphere would be **** there. Even I wouldnt bother going if it were there, far too big and distant from the action. Even if you bought the best tiks you'd be too far away, just like the olympic stadium in Sydney. That's probably the main reason for the big drop in crowds there.
MCG is a hole ....
awful
they won't have any trouble selling Etihad out again in 2012
MCG > Etihad Stadium > AAMI Park
read the f.uckin article you concussed wombatOnions wrote:They're playing it on the ******* weekend, dunderhead!!
Onions, as a matter of fact that was a proposal only. The announcment linked shows that if there is a weekend game it won't be the Melbourne game. It will be either of the other two, although the link I found seemed to indicate that the vacant weekend will be left for a test and the City Country game (which incidentally is at the end of it's run).Onions wrote:They're playing it on the ******* weekend, dunderhead!!
