Being on FTA makes no difference whatsoever (your lame ass excuses are boring as hell) if you fork out for the Fox sport package then thats what you whatch.

Your other excuse is almost as lame. When matches are shown at the same time people flick over between adds. Matches people wouldn't normally watch. I also recall a 3 week period where games didn't overlap and the resuls wernt much different.

The second Saturday game regularly appears in that list, I would say it would be second in popularity only to the Monday game.

Quiet often you have a monday or thursday game (no overlap) Friday game (no overlap), usually one on Saturday that doesnt overap and often one Sunday too. Usually 3 (at least) - which is about what we have. So sing a new tune.
so your excuse is that ratings for games shown at the same time are not split and make no difference because everyone flicks between the channels?

Now thats LAME.

The reason its relevant that AFL has fox and FTA telecasts at the same time is that its a big reason for people NOT to subscribe to foxtel since FTA coverage is all they need to watch 4 games every weekend. Hence the subscription rates in AFL states didnt rise significantly.

Eels, could you explain something to me?

The SYDNEY v collingwood game rated:
Fri TV #AFL FTA metro #AFLSwansPies 1,262,000 (Syd 136k Mel 643k Bri 65k Ade 213k Per 205k) Seven+7mate for metro audience.
The source is oztam via mediaweek on twitter.

Can you explain how when regionals are added the game only rated 1.259m.

Are you really suggesting only -3k people living in regional Vic, SA, WA and Tas watched this AFL final?

FOX Sports has threatened to pull the plug on future Dally M Medal broadcasts following the dreadful on-air performances of NRL stars last week.

The network's CEO Patrick Delaney will meet NRL interim chief executive Shane Mattiske to discuss his concerns.

Gary Burns, the head of Fox Sports programming, says he would scrap future coverage of what is supposed to be the game's night of nights.

"It won't be my call, but I have no desire to cover it again," Burns told me.

"Awards nights are hard enough to cover without a situation where some participants don't co-operate. It's meant to be the players' night.

"Patrick is going to talk to Shane Mattiske specifically about the performance of the players and the fact they did the game, their clubs, themselves and us no favours.

"Some of them had trouble constructing a simple thank you and others were clearly ... adopting a smart-arse attitude. It wasn't appreciated by anyone, particularly their fans."

Ratings on Tuesday night were down 20,000 on last year's figures.

Hmmm, I wonder how these ratings will compare to the Brownlow count? :-k

#Brownlow 956k+66k Brownlow Red Carpet 722k+77k (Seven/7mate)

The brownlow rated 1 million not bad for something that finishes at 11pm

This is what was posted on mediaweek twitter 14 hours ago:
@RyanNorthover Think it was 2,223,000 after FoxFooty revised Fri game to 502k - 4th most-watched sub TV event ever

I think that might be the Friday night game they are talking about here with a rating of 2.2 million and 502K on foxtel.

WOW and WOW!

Brownlow humiliates the Dally M, almost 10 times the ratings.

2.22M for a prelim final! =D>

502k for foxtel! =D>

The sydney and collingwood game had a peak audience of 224,000 in NSW alone, which is a digital channel record.

What do you mean its a record, for club games/ Sports broadcasts? Please clarify what type of record... :-k

Btw since when has anyone cared about peak Audience?

SOO got nearly 5million Peak but that is not mentioned because sports broadcasters use Average when selling there TV adds.

I think he is saying it is a record for all broadcasts on a digital channel.

That peak is huge for Channel 7 and their digital channel 7mate.

It's not counting the regional figures, and i think it may have been for sydney, but doesn't 7mate cover more area's then just sydney?
