What, I'm just saying it's about time you lot acknowledge things aren't what they always seem.

For goodness sake.

The sky is blue says parra, no it's not says AFL fan, it's grey.

There's nothing wrong with supporting a minnow club Parra.

19,312.

188 away from capacity.

Not bad, plenty other teams in all comps can't even average 50% of their stadium capacity yet want to have a crack at others that do.

AFL 2016: Essendon fans defy logic - again

Essendon, still in reputation repair mode and consensus tip for 2016 ladder anchor, will hit 50,000 members in record speed this weekend.
It is the latest logic-defying development to affirm the club's inner sanctum view that while more than a quarter of the playing list is temporarily lost to drug bans, fan support is apparently undiminished.
The Bombers may have been decidedly on the nose in the wider world, and by their own admission will work more concertedly this year to redress that, but evidently this has not deterred the faithful.
Three years into a scandal that has claimed, variously, a club icon turned coach, key administrators and 34 players presently banned from all sport, Essendon set a membership benchmark of 60,819 last season.
As of Friday afternoon the fresh count was 49,945, about 1000 more than this time last year.
Though very pleased by the signs, the club has stopped short of predicting last year's record will be topped in 2016.
It is a fact, however, that through the three nightmare years Essendon has been embroiled in an unprecedented drug investigation, the club has achieved a membership three-peat.

what affects the NRL is people being a member of the leagues club not the football team

Canterbury Leagues for example.

no! the leagues clubs are like a surf club or an RSL club, you have to pay a $5 or $10 membership fee just to have access to the place. they have nothing to do with the people buying a league club membership other than a NRLOL club membership
