the MCG is used for multiple events by hundreds of thousands of fans. You cannot seriously compare it to stadia in Sydney

Younkeep missing the point with the stadiums AFL states had built
The Adelaide ova replaced football park that was built in the early 70/
And perth has their first new stadium build since the early 1900s
The scg was aged hence had new stands built
Allianz standout was built in 1990 and stadium aus 2000


The AFL has a proven track of consistent crowd and nrlol has a consistent proven track record of fudging pathetic crowd numbers

The other gets an upgraded .

Simple AFL gets growds nrlol, aye league and union all hardly do now days

no one has said if 2 new stadiums are built, they will go from 16k avg to 40k avg

Numbers will lift
by having better facilities
better quality viewing..
better roofing for rainy days.

Just look at the Average difference
the New Parramatta stadium is going to have for rugby league..
will be a 50% lift on games played there..

also again.. its for multiple sports and events..
not just R.L

They still attended in big numbers compared to other sports in Sydney....

At the end of the day the best stadiums in Sydney will be for rectangular codes.

Sydney Football Stadium will be demolished and rebuilt, Parramatta is basically ready to go.

All that is left is ANZ at Homebush to be reconfigured to a rectangular ground. As AFL will never use or need it.
