pHyR3 wrote:sorry, the TV rights were 1.3 billion. Doesn't really matter since NRL is 2 hours, AFL 3 hours. so you need 1.5x the media rights to be more valuable. also i hear there's more stoppages allowing for more ads. and you play a few more games, but that's not really a big factor.
fun fact: NZ could become another state of Australia if they voted in favour of it. Australia would have no say in the matter in that case. It's in the constitution cause we gave them an open invitation to join.
Yes - however that was under the bill enacted by the English parliament for Federation - since the Australia Act 1986 - it would have to pass a referendum in order for NZ to become part of the Aust Commonwealth - never happen.

Breaking it down to price per minute or hour is again clutching at straws lol. You're buying a product and there is so much more that is considered ... Including lead in to other programmes, nett worth to station as having people watching your channel means they are likely to stay and makes good will. Cone on psy don't get into Dave's realm... You know this already. AFL got more then nrl .. It's that simple and nothing to be ashamed of.

Which, like most threads here, revert to nrl types generally trying to bring AFL types down a peg or two over the success the AFL enjoys, particularly in qld and nsw, Although has been reversed of late with the rlwc with AFL types trying to tell nrl types their game isn't as big internationally as they like to think it is .

I'm not upset by it either, because it's not even on my radar. It's not important.
I have a big circle on November 21 on my calendar. THAT is important!
