Great crowds for those football (Soccer) games. It really shows you that there is a market for soccer here. It's just a shame that the A league is so shit.

Against Roma, which has a pretty small following in Australia.
How about we wait and see City v RM, and see what that pulls in.

Yes, over 6 games. Average crowd for Origin was 74,000. Average crowd for the soccer so far - 60,000.
We have had
Chelsea v Sydney FC 83,500
Tottenham v Sydney 71,000
Liverpool v Brisbane 50,000
Liverpool v Adelaide Utd 53,000
RM v Roma 80,000
Man City v Roma 41,000
RM v Man City ?
They are big figures and 4 of those games involved A League teams against European teams, so it is great for the game here. More people been watching football than Rugby League in our off season. What is there not to be happy about

Frankly, Im surprised the FFA gives permission for so many of these games. It only shows how poor the local product is and continues to bolster the eurosnobs. Why go during the season, when the offseason has much much better talent and opposition?
Considering, the comments from foreign coaches (who these eurosnobs) listen to have all been impressed with the quality of the A League teams, added to the fact that the eurosnobs are not necessary the ones that need to be "converted"
How poor local talent is? the fact that 15 years ago those teams would tour here and play the National Team, they are now playing club teams and do not dominate them. So I would argue that is shows the complete opposite of your claim that the local talent is poor. Also notice that today Matt Ryan (Socceroos Golakeeper) moved from Club Brugge to Valencia for I believe $10 million transfer fee. Now this is a kid who grew up in Blacktown and was developed by the Central Coast, (which I believe will earn about $1 million from this Valencia move)

while the Crowds have came out to watch the EUROPEAN SIDES PLAY
what WOOKIE stated is true.
No one is watching on TV, even with it being PRIME TIME TV
AS AN EVENT this should be rating through the roof.
But it is not.
all the fans going, prob have very little interest in the A LEAGUE
and have come to see Liverpool RM & CITY PLAY.

Businesses and governments spend big money for these large European soccer clubs to come to Australia. People pay big money to see them play & the clubs attract thousands to their training sessions
But the the games rate crap!
Wow those 4800 rating boxes only showing again how crap the current system is

If dumbo can spam multiple threads( this is a crowd thread) with his ratings box crap ,then I will will ask him in here to answer my questions about his ratings box theory .
Don't run dumbo .
Grow some balls .
Here we go ..
According to you .
Tv stations hand out ratings boxers to select people .
Knowing that they will watch certain programs .
Then try to leverage advertising dollars off companies with these fake numbers .
Here's where your theory is as about as relevant as all your other bizarre claims .
So once a tv channel has put out fake ratings to show how popular a program or sport is ,they then have to fork out hundreds of millions of dollars to buy the rights to that sport .
Why would they artificially inflate the popularity of a sport when it will drive the price up ?
According to you they are paying big overs for something they know doesn't rate well ,but they lied about that so they could outlay far more than it's worth .
Why would any company do that?
