The deal the AFL has got with its broadcasters Is a Superb deal for both parties.
The Coverage is brilliant.
But what you got to realize the way it is set up.
its to MAXIMISE its TV AUDIENCE which is not a bad thing.
your got Teams Featuring W.A Sides and SA sides shown live into there states
and at the same time you have a Melbourne game shown live in to Victoria and around Australia.
and if you cant catch the game on FTA your got it on FOX.
its something the NRL will have to do for the fans and to max the tv deal.
cause right now its below par.
Re: Fight Club: 2015 Rugby League Crowds and TV Ratings
What are you on about? Your game does it almost every FN! Broncos in one game and 2 NSW teams in another. These 2 games target to your entire homeland market on the highest rating time slot of the week. Add to that the broncos represent 2.5mil people which is ludicrous really, but does generate outstanding ratings from one city. The AFL cant do that because Adelaide and Perth have 2 teams each.
The AFL needs 3 games to target its heartland market because it has 3 seperate heartland markets

Arhhhh Derr
I know that..
THE NRL does it for 70% of its games on Friday night.
But the AFL do it Saturday and Sunday to most of there games.
there by MAXIMISING THE RATINGS>>
how many times to do I have to explain it.
the AFL some times have 4 games in one day.
Each game going Live into its Home STATE
Bringing out the TV Audience.
I say this because.
you seem to put one Sunday afternoon NRL game
up against 3 AFL games.
Which have 6 teams
one aired live in SA
the other aired live in to W.A
the other aired live in VIC
the OTHER in QLD AND NSW
And on Foxtel.
and you cry like a baby when the NRL do it on Friday nights.
the AFL do it every week to multiple games.
Re: Fight Club: 2015 Rugby League Crowds and TV Ratings
actually NO, I just do what all the NRL crowd do for their FN's. They seem to completely ignore their targeted FN games and then claim victory as if its the only comparison. They also ignore the fact that only 1 of 9 AFL games is shown in isolation, and 8 of 8 NRL games are.leeroy*NRL* wrote:Xman wrote:What are you on about? Your game does it almost every FN! You lost the metro ratings despite having two combined games. Ouch

Re: Fight Club: 2015 Rugby League Crowds and TV Ratings
What a crushing for 2 NRL games vs 1 AFL game. And the AFL game was shown later than usual. Imagine if the AFL was shown on 7 in Perth instead of 7 mate tooThe_Wookie wrote:Probably havent even won with the regionals this week.
Fox came in at 305k for the AFL + 667 metro = 972 + approx 100k vic regionals and another 100k in WA regionals/Tas and we're looking at about 1.2 mill.
NRL ratings will be lucky to hit a million.

Re: Fight Club: 2015 Rugby League Crowds and TV Ratings
fair chance last nights AFL regionals would have been above average too given it was the first decent FN game of the season and involved a Perth teamThe_Wookie wrote:Before anyone asks, those regional/WA/Tas figures arent pulled out of thin air, its based on the average ratings for those areas last year.

Re: Fight Club: 2015 Rugby League Crowds and TV Ratings
Nrl averages have been 70% of Metro ratings this year , according to NRL ratings. That being the case 641K metro + 449k regionals + 19K on Sky = 1.1m for two bottom teams that would'nt have got a start in the AFL on a Friday night and 1.17m is quiet a bit shy of 1.2m. Its about as many Perth people that watched have watched the game live and delayed.The_Wookie wrote:Probably havent even won with the regionals this week.
