Heres a prediction for the online and the NZ rights for the NRL. Not that I have to much of a clue but why not have a guess.

NZ rights 80 million
Online rights 95 million

Total rights with extra rights added : 1.2 billion.

The NRLs total Australian TV rights component will be less than the AFL's total Australian TV rights component.

And once and for all this will prove (again) that the AFL is Australias number one TV sport. We all know it smashes the NRL at everything else

So once again the AFL crew wants to compare itself tp part of the NRL. Always easier to beat part of the opposition.

We got 75m 6 years ago, how the hell do you think the value of our NZ sky rights is only going to go up by 5m. The ratings for NRL on Sky has improved enormously in 6 years especially the warriors ratings.

My guess 110m for NZ sky.
100m for online rights.

Also take into account how undersold our last tv deal was and it is a no brainier that we will get over 100m for NZ.

Our total TV rights revenue is going to be in the vacinity of 1.2 to 1.3m.

AFL deal 1.250m take away expansion costs of 220m over 5 years and you end up way below the NRL on TV rights moneys.

It is like buying a Ferrari with a faulty engine....

The details looks GREAT but when the engine finally goes IE (GWS,SUNS LEACHING FUNDS LIKE NEVER SEEN BEFORE) it is going to cost an arm and a leg.

I don't know about you Xman but if you ask any anybody what is more important...........having a Ferrari with no engine problems (NRL) or having a Ferrari with a engine that will blowout and cost you 220m in 5 years.........i know what one i would pick.... .

The NRL will need to spend a significant proportion of their funds on club grants and salary cap increases. If they spend anything on grass roots development, stadium development, bailouts for the titans etc etc are these deducted from their TV rights deal?
