so what if some rugby league clubs are big on Gambling...
some AFL clubs would love to have the Establishments of the Rugby leagues Clubs
but they do not have 100 million sitting around to build one.
(while AFL were concentrating on memberships in the 80's
NRL CLUBS were building investments...
in the end it comes down to the available revenue to the club.
If a leagues club brings in 100Mil but can only provide the sporting club with 10mil the revenue isnt as relevant

Pokes in Victoria and other states were only legal several decades later than NSW!
Several AFL clubs have stated they are getting out of pokes and rejecting gaming and gambling sponsorships!

Oh dear .
& how many AFL clubs make a profit without poke poke pokes .
What’s their football related revenue
AFL minnows like stkilda and bulldogs still turn over more through related football $ streams than the nrlol clubs do
Oh dear .
Doesn't matter what football related revenue is ..if you're running at a loss & have to get into the pokies to help you .
Lol,
You really have no comprehension of anything .
% of Football related revenue to poke revenues raised and used!
An nrlols clubs ability to raise football related revenue is pathetic and small sometime that reflects how minnow a the joke of a clubs really is

The AFL contributed a combined figure of more than $45 million to the two expansion clubs in 2018 in an attempt to gain traction in the non-traditional football markets in Western Sydney and the Gold Coast.
he $23.7 million the AFL gave the Suns - a slight decrease on their 2017 contribution - allowed the Suns to report a profit of $1.16 million for 2018 in documents lodged recently with the Australian Securities and Investment Commission.
However the Giants, who made finals for a third successive season, recorded a loss for the first time in four years with an abnormal level of injury payments and flat attendances the main factors for the $1.9 million deficit.
The Suns made money from games being played at the Gabba and in Cairns, Perth and China during last season and renegotiated the AFL deal with Stadiums Queensland in relation to Metricon Stadium that saved them close to $500,000
The Giants' combined revenue from AFL distributions and match receipts was $25.7 million,
The Giants had 26,000 members in 2018, are consistent finalists and have solid commercial sponsorship although they still face an uphill battle attracting crowds when they play against poorly performing teams at Spotless Stadium.
They are also anticipating receiving more than $45 million combined in AFL distributions in 2019 and 2020 with much of that figure to cover fixed costs in football including TPP and football department payments.

I think people quickly forget that the Suns and Giants were both 20 year projects. Their challenges are pretty unique in the Australian sporting landscape given they are both the second club in an expansion market

Both teams are now entering 8 /9 years + in the AFL Competition
this also includes ground work done before entering the AFL (which was a 2 + years right there..
the article suggested by AFL chiefs they are a 10-15 year PROJECT
8 / 9 years is along time>>
in your opinion have these 2 clubs been worth it judging by the 9 year result mark ?
your comments would be welcomed.

Long term projects that their owner the AFL can pay for!
Like the nrlol, the leagues clubs with their shitty little nrlll clubs!
Wasn’t it all bar two nrlol clubs made a profit last year or the year before!
All clubs in nsw were making losses! Topped up by their mini casinos and the nrlol commission
It’s not like the suns or giants are 60 plus years old with pathetic little minnow football related operations revenue

AFL OPEN TO OWNING METRICON
AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan says the governing body is open to buying the rights to Metricon Stadium and the Gabba.
