Since when are test matches or origin games part of the NRL?

They are adding that because they know that without it, thugby would be even worse off in both attendances and ratings! It'd drop like a stone! Remember that the AFL has NO rep games in their figures, and yet the AFL is more than competitive!
Gee, I wonder just how committed the NRL is to club footy, huh?
You lot are pathetic! Ruling out things just so you can compete with us. Rep football is just Rugby League

Beaussie wrote:Haven't done the calculations as yet but I'm guessing that Origin or Tests plus the entire round of NRL that respective week, still fails to match the national ratings of the corresponding AFL round.
hmmm ... I'll have a crack at it for you
& I'll do it without regionals
Metro
AFL
4 games 2.8 Million
NRL
3 games 1.6 Million
Origin 2.2 Million
ummmm oh dear
add regionals
AFL
4 games 800K
NRL
3 games 1.2 Million
Origin 1.3 Million
gawd
pay TV
AFL
4 games 600K
NRL
5 games 1.2 Million
the total for a full round of AFL
4.2 Million
for a full round of NRL
4 Million
+ an Origin game 7.5 Million
the breakdown is there so the fumbleballers don't start crying saying its the regionals that got League ova the line in this lil test
the Metro numbers are 2.8 Mill on average for the AFL
& 3.8 Million for League
still a whopping of biblical proportions

yeah this
oh oh oh ... you can't include that
ummmm... why
its a commodity our game has to sell
you're more then welcome to get another 250 mill added to your deal by getting your own rep program
oh wait .... :_<> :_<>

No, you lot are pathetic because you have to ADD rep footy to compete. And you have to rely on the regionals in NSW to win as well - when in the advertisers eyes regionals mean NOTHING!!

Ahhahahahahaaa.
Oh if I could I'd lock this post now I would because this one is OVER!
Raiderdave once again you have provided outstanding service to the site of talking footy. =D>

=D>
Pussycat nice work as well =D>
Beaussie you have been owned and I dont know how you're going but if you need advice or someone to talk to or even just to call me up and weep over the phone I'm here for you.
TLPG, you really copped a bitch slappin in that last post

And maybe you need to reconsider your role of Beaussies lil groupie. He's just using you as promotional meat for his own purposes and maybe you'd be better off without him...? Actually no that wouldnt be true
Raiderdave it's fantastic for someone to take the time to put the hard numbers up on the board and thump these two shonksters' heads together like you have. Once again =D>
Until Beaussie or TLPG can prove otherwise Rugby League takes the cake in this argument. Raiderdave and pussycat right. Beaussie and TLPG wrong. And the best part is all the info is right here on Beaussie's site!!!

Rep football has been part of our game since 1908.
Did you ever ask yourself why you've got no rep football in you game. I will tell you why, its a very boring game and nobody else is interested in playing it!

Regionals are not Bogus. It's only people who live in a fantasy worlds who cannot accept them. People who like to bury there head in the seand and pretend they dont exist because they dont fit into your fantasy 'Never, Never land' point of view. But this is the real world, people from Newcastle, Woolongong etc buy groceries, cars and go on holidays. ie There just like the rest of us! Advertising dollars are directed towards them, just like the rest of us. They don't take regional ratings for something to do. The AFL might like to ignore these figures but the TV networks are well aware of them
.
Look, we just go around in circles with this regionals BS.
Fact is, the TV networks who bid for sports tv rights don't give a rats about regionals. That is not AFL supporters having their heads in the sand, this is the reality!!!
Capital cities and their advertising spend my friend, that's all that matters to the tv networks.

Nice try, but not true. The reason is because it's more worthwhile playing for your club and for one thing above all else. A premiership! That means that NRL players don't value the club premiership as highly as the AFL players do. And I call that a BAD thing! If you aren't committed to the club, what are you committed to?
Think about that one, Pussycat - good and hard.

And TLPG, that's why I think Rugby League supporters are not committed to their NRL clubs. There is simply no passion for their clubs when it comes to attending games or buying memberships. Just ask KE how many Parramatta games he has been to in the last 10 years. You could count the times on one hand. Sadly for the NRL that's how their supporters view their game. Only excited and on the bandwagon come finals time. Rather pathetic if you ask me.

If what you're saying is correct, and the regionals as you like to always try and point out favour the NRL (despite most parts of AFL heartland not even being counted), why doesn't the NRL get more money than the AFL? Why isn't the NRL in the list of the highest ratings sports on TV in Australia, yes with regionals included. Why, why, why pussycat???

Quoted for sheer accuracy!
I might not be a dedicated club person, but then as an experienced umpire I sort of need to be at arm's length. Besides, I have an unashamed bias for the game. That's why I run the scores service on my website to the width that it is. I'm the only one in the country who goes to that length. No one is dedicated like that to thugby, not even to state borders - and there are three websites dedicated to the state level (Victorian Country, SA Country and WA Country) and a Facebook page dedicated to Tassie in AFL.
Where's the website for country NSW RL results? Or Queensland?

Firstly I've been away for several of those 10 years. Secondly I could count them on two hands. Thirdly I have watched them on TV probably close to 100 times in that region. Fourthly, I'm not a passionate League supporter.
Thus Beaussies rubbish about me is not indicative of the point he tries to make but rather a disgraceful attempt to corrupt.

He who argues with fools is a fool. So yes it has occurred to me several times hammer.
The argument here is meant to be about what is the best football code so I guess we are off topic and as I dont think either is better than the other I'll take your advice and move on. It is tricky though when you see such rubbish...
