What about the Melbourne Demons, heck, they're going strong I heard, aren't they a Melbourne heartland club too?
Where was Port Barrelaide when they were losing, crowds down near the bottom?
Fair dinkum, like arguing with a 2 year old who's eaten 15 kilos of candy.
I don't know if I'd call 30k+ membership and a crowd average in excess of 25k struggling - but I suppose in comparison to Collingwood with 80k membership and 50k average crowd yes you could say that! But Sydney Swans since 1994 have had the highest crowd average in Sydney with the biggest budget, sponsorship etc etc - membership has also been greater than ANY RL side (at times even Brisbane Broncos) No Parra Swans are the number one club in Sydney - but I can't blame you for grasping at straws!
He didn't say swans......gee whiz. Reading comprehension is very poor...
They just won the premiership a couple of years ago right?
Sydney Swans has had consistently since 1994 the highest average crowds, largest membership etc etc! They are the BIGGEST club in Sydney without doubt!
& the jetsons beat them on TV ...
meaning apart from the 25K at the ground ... they are irrelevant to the vast majority of Sydneysiders
& there isn't any side in any code in Sydney .. with less support overall
meaning they are the smallest side in Sydney you cockhead

Hahahaha classic, maths and English both poor.
And TV ratings generate money. 1 billion for 2 hrs is more valuable than 1.25 for 3 hours (without nz or digital rights).

Yeah keep thinking that way while the Swans continue to be the BIGGEST club in SYDNEY! If TV ratings were oh so important than answer just one question - why are the Swans the club that receives the most sponsorship - surely they would put their money where it will give them the most value - well it ain't going to Penrith is it!

Yeah and how's Penrith and Cronulla going they going to be around next year? Meanwhile the Swans will have more than double the crowd, three times the members, substantially more revenue ....... Yeah keep clutching at straws - now take your meds!

I agree AFL certainly not high in Sydney but they have cut a nice little niche... Unsure how you know the total tv viewership of a swans game in Sydney when fox don't give state or city breakdowns ??? Particularly given the high uptake of fox on Sydney ?

Yeah and how much of he tv rights deal do Penrith get directly?
No they get a distribution like every other club 7.1 mil
Swans also get a distribution from the AFL of 6.5 mil
Yet the question about which club is bigger does not require whether people are watching on the tv but if they are prepared to put time, effort and money into the club they support. Now you CANT tell me the percentage of the fans on tv that are watching Penrith because all the viewers are in Sydney - out of 350 FTA it might be 350 or it might be 50!
Now in the case of the swans the only difference is that the Sydney figures are Swans fans - but you ignor interstae figures and Fox figures! I dont watch FTA because I have Fox - If I had a FTA ratings box it would be stuck on a channel I was not watching!
Now in crowds Swans win hands down
In memberships again Swans win hands down
In sponsorship again the Swans
And lastly total revenue again the Swans.
Its funny how you never talk about these stats - but since RLWC you have mentioned crowds there, since your TV rights deal you mention crowds there- but when its turned to the question of the Biggest club in Sydney - you clasp the one statistic in your favour. Again you show what qualities you have as a human being - I really pitty you that this information hurts so much that even over an internet forum where your ID is unknown - you still cant just admit a basic truth! I think it is a true reflection of what sort of person you are - you tell us you have kids - well I really feel sorry for them!
Whatever you say now will mean little or be accurate - but you know and I know that the Swans are Sydneys biggest sporting club and have been since 1994!

312K sets of Sydney eyes regularly watch the Panthers when they play
just 80K could be bothered watching the swines fumble ... bumble & miss
George Jetson just took a dump on your pathetic club , the 2nd smallest in ol Sydney
