That just show how much verbal diarrhoea you guys speak. To the average Aussie bloke who watches any sport on TV, regardless of their favourite code,
you are just pointing out that AFL only has one event that is worth watching each year.
Umm, sorry to again point out another error on your part but the above must be corrected. Our home and away season and finals, along with our International Rules series (on the Gold Coast this year

) are events watched by millions of Australians each and every week of the football season. You lot would die for our weekly event status and figures outlined below.
■ One in every 35 Australians is a member of an elite AFL club
■ Over 620,000 members in total- more than double nearest competitor (league)
■ Over 7 million annual attendees
■ AFL ranks FIRST amongst all world ball sports for average attendance on a per capita basis
■ Average 4.6 million TV viewers per week – that means 1 in 5 Australians are watching AFL on TV every week
■ Average of 1.6 million radio listeners per week
■ 32% share of voice of all print media Australia wide – 50% more than nearest competitor

Keep it in context. My response was focussed at your comment that NRL fans only watch three games per year (SOO) and that is our only events. If that is the case you definitely only have one, the GF. If you are trying to suggest you have a national event every week, again I say verbal diarrhoea. Millions of viewers watch league every week too, I say that makes it a popular sport not a national event. But you continue to hide behind the figures that suit you, that's what you have done throughout the entire forum.
International Rules – let’s go there now that it suits you to talk about it. Have you got the viewers details for your International Rules games, if so then let compare your rep and international viewers with ours! This will really put all the figures out there. You will either ignore this, or shut this one down or come up with some nonsense response pretty quick as you know you will lose hands down.
I also see I am supposably wrong because you have now posted the same material again from one of your team’s website marketing pages. I will reply to this in the same manner I did when you posted it up last time. Let me head to some NRL team website and get some marketing material from there to say why rugby league is doing so great (you’re laughable). This is off the GWS website so I better take it as gospel.
Lastly, we are not disputing memberships or attendance so why post it, again, as I have mentioned last time you posted this up, I am happy to admit that AFL wins in that area hands down. Unlike yourself in this forum, I do not just hide behind the figures that fall my way, I prefer use the available full set of data and not try to remove bits that I don't fall my way by suggesting they are floored. If they fell AFL way, I am 100% certain that they would be up on this forum.

Although it is probably a fair comment for you to make, considering you would not have a clue what representative football is. Go on tell me AFL really plays rep games that have any credibility. You play gaelic football with Ireland, which the name suggest you are playing the right game. You are trying to start a world cup, maybe in the next 5-10 years it will get off the ground and good luck to AFL (great for AU economy and AFL if it does). But maybe then you will understand what rep footy is and give it the credibility it deserves. Until then, don't put up rubbish.
Rep footy IS fucking rubbish, loser! It only means the world to New South Wales and Queensland losers who have nothing better to do that support a game that's a fucking mess that makes no sense! What a life, hey? How about you get one and follow the great game of AFL that actually makes a fucking quid!!

Yet another intelligent response from Onion, one day you will have real rep footy in aerial ping pong and you may understand it.

We had it and we fucking dumped it because it's a WASTE OF TIME!! We concentrate of CLUB games because THAT is where the fucking money is! 24 games (more for finalists) per club - not three!! Collingwood makes more fucking money off three games than your stupid Origin!
Understand THAT, fuck wit? Or are you going to insist on living on rep footy because that's all that's keeping your stupid game alive! And that's fucking DOOMSDAY in the making!

You must talk with a big bucket under your chin, cause god you speak some s**t. If really think the s**t you speak, why are you so concerned about keeping it out of the debate. Because you can't argue with the ratings, so like beaussie you try to dissmiss them any way you can. Go-on tell me again SOO is not part of the code NRL. Show us your intelligence again.

Repeat - the two teams that play Origin are NOT fucking NRL clubs!! Get it now? If you don't, I've got a title deed that says "Sydney Harbour Bridge" and I'm selling! Interested?

That is about as true as the rest of the s**t that you write up. You know what, with the way you c*ck on I would not be surprised if you believe that. How deluded are you really.

Thought I would update the thread in between the two friday night games I watch each week. However I wouldn't get counted in the averages as most of the counters are in AFL based states anyway. However, Onion you poor poor person, this thread is called Football TV Ratings Thread, not AFL or NRL. Get that through your thick scull. Just another piece of the onion dribble train. Time to empty the bucket onion, it must be getting pretty full by now.
Argue with me as much as you want champion, SOO is one piece of the Rugby League game. Yes, we hear your dribble, but I have given it the credit it deserves and will be after this comment choosing to ignore the stupidity of you trying to exclude it. It is called a representative game, have you ever seen or heard of that sort of thing or have you still got the blinkers on thinking AFL is the only game played in the world. FYI, representative game is a term commonly used by most sports that have any sort of real international coverage.
Just because SOO did not work in AFL, that is your problem in this thread, not mine. If it was successful in AFL, it would still be being played today and you would be using those figures in your count, no questions. Don't go on with rubbish excuse like it didn't make money, if it was good for your game the management would have kept it running. You played it for a number of years and it obviously failed, we still have SOO and it has continued to grow successfully and the 11 million viewers that watched it have their place in this thread.
How about I through something up from the couriermail to back the 11 million count. I would suspect you would have to agree it has more credability than Onion or the GWS website.

Hey listen, fuck wit, this started when you (or someone) made the fucking stupid claim that Origin is the NRL's Jewel in the Crown. Not rugby league's - NRL's!. A competition's big event can't be anything else but it's fucking grand final!! Origin hasn't fucking grown! It relies just as much on the violence of the first game as it always fucking has!! Before that rep footy was a fucking joke and it would have stayed that way!
A sport lives on it's fucking clubs. First and last stop! If it's living on rep footy then it's in fucking big trouble! Fuck you need three games just to break even!! AFL isn't in as much trouble as that because it does the RIGHT fucking thing and makes it about the clubs because THAT'S where the fucking money is! Does the NRL care about the clubs? NO FUCKING WAY!!
It's all about money. Ratings mean fuck all in the end, because where the clubs make the money is in attendance and memberships! No fucking clubs, no fucking comp. TV rights goes to the comps and MIGHT be distributed to the clubs, if there's enough to fucking go around!
