Another victory for the AFL despite being a 3 hours telecast which is delayed to Perth, and concurrent on foxtel.
Check the expansion ratings out:
- The AFL get 65k from SYD BRIS. Add concurrent foxtel ratings of maybe 35-40k to get around 100k.
- The NRL get 16k from Mel Adel Perth combined with no PTV concurrent telecast!

There is no source for the regional TV ratings for that year. Therefore it's simply a matter of extrapolation. Last years AFL GF rated 2.64m metro audience and 930k regionals. That's 26% regional or the regional ratings are 35% of the metro.
Well in 2005 the AFL GF rated 3.386m metro only. 35% of this is 1.185m. Add the two together and you have 4.57m.
