Did the NRL beat 48k last night?
If the the real crowd figure was announced we would have

the fudged figure was only a few K more.

You're full of it. The MCC count the crowd anyway, not the AFL

Are you suggesting 48k is a poor crowd?
Fact is the pies have had a horror year with form and injury, and with a team of reserve players were expected to be trounced, as was the case

A 45% loss on a big game at the G is not to be ignored and i can guarantee you the AFL would be slightly worried.
That is 12% down on crowds in melbourne in 1 year, surly you cant just laugh that off like its nothing to worry about.....

Compare apples with apples. Recent collingwood v hawthorn crowds have benefitted from the fact that both teams have been near the top. This year collingwood missed the finals and are missing most of their team through injury. Of course the crowd was significantly lower.
However the issue with Melbournes crowds being lower overall is a concern that has been acknowledged by the AFL. It will be rectified in coming seasons

I find it funny that you got hooked by the marnie Nash spoof. You really believed the AFL have someone count crowds by hand ?? And then sometimes from the TV ??!

32500 on a wet Thursday night
not too shabby
over 40,000 if this game had been played tonight or on the weekend
plus another 500,000 plus Sydneysiders watching it on TV last night too
550,000
or
5 times the number who'll be bothered watching the bumbles & derpies at ANZ tomorrow

:_<> :_<> :_<>
says it all eh you lying *****
says it all
