AFL GF have the edge over the NRL the pass decade.. not by a huge amount..

STATE OF ORIGIN usually trumps them both>> hence the highest rating sporting Game of the year. usually goes to Rugby League.

Sky NZ also shows the AFL. Totally agree that the NRL would rate higher in the NZ market, but given the betting volumes on AFL in NZ, I would assume viewership would not be immaterial and should be included in a comparison (if available!)

the night games start at 10pm over there & don't finish til after midnight

Ah yeah that's not what i said. In reality I like both sports, and will continue to watch and enjoy both sports. They're both equally as popular to me, and it doesn't matter to me if they weren't.
