Fred wrote:I was asked what times AFL players had for 100 metres. It sparked my interest and did a quick google. Not alot of infornation but pulled a few articles of 4 players under 11. Also found gps data for nic nat at around 36 kph. Not even sure what that equates to but there was some gps data on soccer players that were fast.
And all your times are slower than the best cited rl times
And there's been more rl players cited as sub 11 second.
And there's been more rugby league speedsters cited who have actually played the game at the highest level for more than 50 games.
Getting the drift yet Freddie me clown? You're on a hiding to nothing!!!

Please keep trying tho, it's a comedy gift that keeps on giving to this thread I'm owning

So roberts .... what is his actual speed over 100?
I think tenace was 10.3 ? Cant remember if it was him or another who competed at the pan pacs in the 100 metres.
So the only time we have for roberts is 11 you say?

No i have not lol. I gather it is not hard... lets see... off the top of my head.... 36 kph would be 36 klm every 60 minutes. Hmmm so we may have to turn klm into metres im gathering... is that 36000 metres and minutes into seconds ... is that 3600 seconds in an hour? So from there i think it would be maybe working that down to 1 metre. So what we do to one side we do to the other so 3600 divided by 36000 but that doesnt seem right although is rounded. Then obviously times by 100. I am guessing i am wrong or there is an easier way lol. My head hurts now....

I think that measurement was in the game itself though and not over 100 metres by looking at footage but is pretty fast none the less. I also read he actually qualified for bejing for the high jump?

The great Ken Irvine equalled the world record for the 100 yard dash at 9.3 s in 1961. Yes......that's the world record. I can't find anything on what he did over the 100m but geez it woulda been in the very low 10's for sure.
He scored 212 tries in 236 first grade games and still holds the record for most tries in the NRL. He also scored 33 tries in 33 test matches. For our fumbleball friends that's international games.
Kenny Irvine......fast........legend!!!!!!

And: Kenny Irvine played 24 games for NSW and scored 30 tries!!!!!!!!! This bloke was speed, skill and instinct personified. No one in any sport in this country was as fast as the GREAT Ken Irivne!!!!!

Was never banned for stalkinh was banned for week for posting aflcraps name.
Can you then please tell me what 36kph would mean for the 100 metres.
I dont read most posts as most are drivel. I do flick through them though.
But aside from all that i am interested in what 36 klm per hour would equate to in how long it would take to run 100 metres?

You are currently converting speed units from kilometers per hour to second per 100 meters
36 kph = 10 sec/hm

10 sec/hm
Conversion base : 1 kph = 360 sec/hm Conversion base : 1 sec/hm = 360 kph
Seems i was right.
