Rubbish. There are plenty of Melbourne based lion members. They wear the Lions jumper, sing their song etc..Striker wrote:Crap! Fitzroy are GONE! Yeah. That's another club entirely. Fitzroy Reds.
Re: Options for a lopsided comp
No it's not! The admin of Fitzroy FC never wound up. Brisbane only took over the on field operations, which included the jumper and the name. The admin took over University Reds a few year ago after that team moved into Brunswick Street. They started as sponsors for the Reds before completing the takeover.

Ah Xman? I believe eels bolded 6 basketcase sides who have been copping numerous beltings.Xman wrote:Says the guy who thinks the AFL consists of the giants and suns only.![]()
Every time I mention our better memberships, money, crowds etc you bring up 2 brand new teams out of 18.
As I said, the AFL is enjoying one of the best seasons ever. The 2 developing teams at the bottom were always going to struggle for a number of years. We'll still double your crowds despite playing 25% of our games outside our heartland compared to your 10%
Why didnt you pick that up? Guess the truth is a bitter pill to swallow for you right now eh?

Nor has either code expanded to 18 teams. Nor has either code expanded to have a minimum of 2 teams in each of the 5 biggests states.King-Eliagh wrote:6 teams struggling like they are this year? I dont think thats happened ever. Happy for you to prove us wrong Xman and TLPG.
There are reasons which will resolve over time.
