It starts this week. I saw an ad last night on 7mate saying the wait for live Friday night AFL is over for fans in NSW/ACT and QLD. Starting this Friday night, all games will be broadcast live into NSW/ACT and QLD. :thumbleft:
wow so the 4 people a cat & a pet goldfish can rejoice

So what? I already proved on the other thread that that is NOT translating into real RL support where it counts. I repeat;

Number of RL clubs in NSW: 247
Number of FL clubs in Victoria: 699 (from a LOWER population base)
AND
Number of FL clubs in regional NSW: 84
Number of RL clubs in Victoria: 18

You just wish the NRL had the same negotiating powers as the AFL. Anyway no matter what you say this is great news for footy fans and the AFL. Live Friday night football in NSW/ACT and QLD.

When will the NRL be able to say it offers live football across the country? You can't even get State of Origin shown live around the country. :>::

Does anyone know when the Rugby League TV deal is going to be made?

And if the NRL gets over 900,000 can anyone think of how Beaussie and TLPG should post their acknowledgement of defeat?
900K?? Are you serious, bud? They'll be lucky to get 750K!

Shut your pie hole and go back to where you came from onion breath.

When's this deal everyone's talking about going to be secured?

The NRL is waiting on the new Rugby League Commission to be formed before they open there negotiations with the TV networks. There seems to be a few final sticking points.

No it won't. 800 million is my prediction. Because there won't be any competition.

ummmm....... 2013 :>::
on secondary digital channels certainly & maybe a lot more on main channels

Ch 9 Melbourne are already wondering why the hell they haven't been putting more league on live on sundays .. based on ratings for the Storm the last 3 times they've put them on

game 1 V Penrith 37K
game 2 V Souths 50K
game 3 V Tigers 86K

all up against AFL coverage at the same time
far better results then for the Swans in Sydney

looks like they'll extend this to a Live Friday broadcast into Melbourne in a few weeks when the Storm play the Broncos down there
our game was underated by the media in the past .... it will be .. no longer !!

Why not now like the AFL, Raider? Why wait until 2013?

Stop comparing Melbourne TV audiences of NRL with AFL TV audiences in Sydney. It wrecks your argument.

you can't write in a claus in a contract til it is negotiated
our current deal has no such provision , the next will

& it hardly wrecks my argument
the Storm hardly ever gets onto FTA at a decent time in Melbourne
barely anyone would have known about the live telecasts in the last few weeks ...

yet

they still drew bigger numbers then a team that has been forced down the throats of sydneysiders at prime time ... for decades

hidden away from any competition on FTA from the NRL in Sydney
ie never on a Friday night
always on a saturday nite when theres no NRL on FTA

the regularly broadcast swans attract less TV veiwers in sydney .. then the rarely ever .. & who knows when .. check yr TV guide Storm do in Melbourne
I mean
what the s.hit

thats embarrasing 8-[ :(/

No it's not. It shows that the NRL is over estimating the Storm's "popularity" in Melbourne and they don't think they need to advertise. Melbourne is after all a sporting mad town no matter what the sport.

But one still has to advertise! Even the AFL advertise down here, and they'd have less reason to than the NRL!

why would the NRL p.iss their money down the drain on promotion on TV , when the Storm are rarely shown before Midnight in Melbourne

its Ch 9 who've gone .... :-k 8-[

wow

imagine if we put them on regularly at a decent time #-o
