Even with the decrease in Melbourne the average AFL crowd in Melbourne would still be over double the average NRL crowd. We could have a reduction for 50years and still be comfortably ahead

another 6k for the roosters game
all in NRL heart land
the NRL average is still less than half of the AFL after an experimental year.
the top 4 major clubs in Melbourne on the bottom end of the ladder,
yet AFL crowds still continue to rise
as for the NRL, the little game if league just keeps shrinking
there is a reason why news ltd sold the game off

Some poor crowds for nrl .... It's more like occasionally the nrl get a decent crowd. Even a low Melbourne crowd is usually way way bigger than the average nrl crowd in Sydney .
Nrl crowds are generally pathetic really. Again, the people raising concerns are nrl people more so than AFL people. . Let's be serious, the nrl aren't in the same ball park as the AFL. This phil Gould guy described the AFL as a huge monster with lots of money and time and stayed the nrl needs to act .
Swans and suns get better average crowds then their nrl counterparts .... No wonder the nrl folks are worried.

The answer is Marnie Nash.
It’s her job to count the crowd at every game — and she does it all by hand.
“There are just too many variables — members entry, media passes, turnstile jumpers, helicopter drops — you can’t just get a machine to count crowd numbers,” says the AFL’s official attendance counter.
The league estimates Nash gets the crowd figure spot-on when she attends matches live and to within a handful of spectators when forced to count off the TV.
For the maths whiz, counting is a labour of love.
“Some of my biggest heroes have been mathematicians ... it was a hobby turned into a passion that became a job,” she says.

& this is after the tards on here told me it was IMfuckingpossible to gauge a crowd number off TV .

& she must have got hit in the head before the last midgets game ,& was seeing 2-3 people for every one.
