A one sided AFL game, averaged over three hours, and directly against a FTA RL game, almost rated as high as the 2 hour NRL game yesterday on Foxtel.
No wonder the AFL are doing so well on Foxtel this year.

Stop with the excuses, No 1 of your games on the weekend managed to get 250.

Their competition is every other channel and every other sport.
You may scoff at the average AFL payTV ratings but they will never achieve NRL levels because:
1. Most are shown concurrent with another payTV AFL game
2. Many are concurrent with a FTA AFL game
3. Subcription rates are much higher in NRL states because the average AFL fan can see more FTA footy tan NRL fans can see RL.
Seriously, do you really think the NRL would get two ratings of 300k for two NRL games shown at the same time on payTV?

Yeah, ok, but down on last game and certainly should be better for prime time on a Wednesday night.

Yeah, real shame that being the 2nd or 3rd highest ever. One thing for though only one AFL game will get close.
Whats up with the ratings on this site? Embarrassment? is that why Beau won't post them?

How would an increase of 30% be considered embarrasing?

Has Fox Footy not been Number 1 anytime this year since its launch?
Foxtel must be over the moon about their investment in the AFL.

And he highlights the effect of a 3hr footy game starting after 8.30pm. This has been one of the major reasons the AFL has rated so much better this year because the average audience drops substantially for a game finishing after 11pm. Just look at the NRL game that finishes after 11pm.

Whats the excuse for 300k for the NRLs 9.30pm game?
Why does Thursdays game need an excuse?

What did the NRL rate?
