Whatever.

Yes. Yes on this matter i do. :D I've been watching closely and its alarming the incidence of dirty unsportsmanlike violent tactics used in the AFL as compared to the NRL. There is one clear reason. The fact that RL players are given leeway to retaliate in particularly offensive circumstances, much the same as our legal system condones self defence. Thus those who employ dirty dodgy tactics are frowned upon and if their behaviour is extremely distasteful they are thumped good and proper, as they often are in society by those they attack or by the police... so they think twice about employing these nasty tactics. In the AFL, at worst the players will receive a small penalty or simply get away with their dirty tactics as the new breed of stompers in the league appear to. Note I'm talking about the dirty dodgy tactics here.

dirty cheap shots are common in AFL just to stir up the opposition to see if theyll react and give away a silly freekick. But if it involves sufficient force that results in injury it deserves ;unishment. However the insignificant incidents your highlighting mean nothing and shouldnt be punished anyway.

You don't, KE. You see the solution as allowing violence to return in a vigilante form. That's not a solution. That's worsening the problem. Your attempt to try and justify self defence is a joke.
There will be enough complaints to make the tribunal come down on this like a ton of bricks sooner rather than later.

There are pleanty of people who complain about the AFLs MRP. Most that they are too heavy handed. Some that they are too inconsistent. None with the non-sensical argument that you have KE.
You certainly are unique.

Yes Xman, unique but real. In this long ongoing tussle I havent heard either of you turkeys suggestthat today there is the same amount of, or less, doglke play than in the 80s. Yes you may say now that ofcourse youwould argue that but the fact remains neither of you, perhaps unconsciously, have made this point...interesting, yes?
My point stands. The AFL's regression to harsh laws for fisticuffs in the form of self defence, and I add upholding of sporting and indeed human values and ethics, has lowered the values and ethics of many a contemporary player..and in turn those viewing the competition.

Your off the mark here mate you obviously never watched Derm,Lockett or Mathews run around.lol Great footballers, dirty men. They got away with a shit load more.Youtube Derm standing on Tallis's head.Classic.Trial by video changed the game dramatically. For god sake Matthews got charged by the police for smashing bruns. No the AFL in undoubtably cleaner and the fans way more respectful. You should have seen Arden St.when I was a kid.I would say that Human Values are changing also. The major reason the Biff was banned was for the marketing of the game.Simple.Same reason it is being stamped out in your game.Honestly when was the last decent blue in rugby league.Havent seen a bloke bowled over since Price and I watch a fair bit of league. As far as dog act you had a guy digitally raping another man on the field. This has to be an all time low for any sport and when the young fella tried to retaliate Hoppa bashed him.As I have said from the start of this argument. If these men are payed to be players and role models then this they should be.Beating the shit out of eachother in anger is not the kind of role models most parents want for their children. And judging by the lack of biff in league and the measures they have also taken to stamp it out it would seem that the powers to be agree with me.

KE, stop now. You have no idea what you are talking about. Thanks to the crack down by the AFL, king hits and blatant blast like that of Hall on Staker have been eliminated. They are the worst forms of "dog like" behaviour. There is no more of that, therefore there is a lot less of that stupid conduct that you seem to claim hasn't changed.
The ethics of players have improved markedly. KE's assertion that they have dropped is not real. He wants fights. If he wants a fight, he can pick up the next presentation of Friday Night Fights or watch the next UFC pay per view. He's not getting it on the football field and that's the way it should be.

Ahh pookus some fair points. But i'd put testical biting on a par with digital raping
But pookus im not talking about as you put it so simply, "beating the shit out of eachother in anger" I'm talking about giving leeway to violence which occurs out of instinct as a response to extremely foul play. Both codes should show some respect to the players who are out there on the field playing a violent sport, and responding with violence when unsportsmanlike violent behaviour, which brings down the moral standing of the game, occurs.
I'll tell you now, more and more players are resorting to dog tactics as a means to gain the upper hand. Reason? They know that being slimy and unsportsmanlike is not looked down upon as much as retaliating openly and physically to such an act. Balance is what's needed. TLPG we know you and balance dont go together so leave this one to me and pookus from now. Thanks mate

You wouldn't know balance if it laid out on the bed in front of you, KE. The so-called "dog" tactics that you say are becoming more prevalent will be punished sooner rather than later. Two wrongs do not make a right - that is not balance. Balance is eliminating both the wrongs, and clearly you are against that. So instead of calling for a return to retaliatory action, how about calling for the "dog" tactics to be properly punished? Or are you truly that stupid?

Ahh TLPG. You remind me of a child who's been wrapped in cotton wool. So stupidly optimistic. Fact is it is impossible to eliminate all 'wrong' as you suggest my simple friend.
Its not all rainbows and lollipops TLPG

Fact is, the AFL has eliminated most of the wrong. Eventually all the wrong will be taken care of. It'll still happen but it will all be caught and punished.

Yeah they might, but by that time the game will be almost dead.
