Anyway, anyone else keen to have a Top 20 or 50 of the highest rating AFL and NRL games in 2012? I would like to add it to the top of tv ratings page here on this site. Just wondering how we agree on what is appropriate for the calculations?

You guys said the same thing last year even though you know we have split rounds and not every friday night has 2 games, just like last year where the storm played the dragons and smashed everything the vFL put up outside semis and a GF

That's got nothing to do with it dope!

All we are saying is the games should be labelled correctly. Many of the are from multiple games shown at the same time, not single games. So they can't be labelled as if they are a single game.

The ratings still stand. That's fine. But just label them correctly like I have labelled the concurrent PayTV games for the AFL.

Just been updating the ratings page and noticed the figure you have pussycat of 256k, looks like the preliminary figure from Mediaweek.

ASTRA has the game rating 261k as the final figure for Week 21.

Interestingly, I go back each week and check the preliminary figures against the final STV figures provided by ASTRA. It seems to always be the case that many of the NRL preliminary figures are less than the final figure, particularly Monday night games. This doesn't appear to be the case very often for the AFL. Strange indeed. In any case I endevour to update all figures with the final figures provided.

That being the case, it makes it almost impossible to compile a Top 20 or Top 50 list yeah? Damn, would have been interesting to present the figures like that.

EDIT: Actually now I'm really confused. Are your figures above, the correct totals for individual games Xman? So it is possible to present a Top 20 for instance?

Last fridays game, yet you guys have the figures for all weeks lower when most the time they are over the 400k mark

ThinkTV always has odd ratings compared to the ratings I get from OzTAM and what you find on other sites. Not sure why that is. Like I say, odd indeed.

Rep games should be included with an asterisk to show they are not a like for like comparison.
I think pussycats games should be charged to say round .... Friday live? So Friday would say Rnd12 Friday live .... Instead of Storm v Broncos.

This would be for the top 20 list of course. Your weekly figures are accurate.

The broadcast from friday night rated about 717K Fri TV FTA #NRL: 717k (Syd 350k Mel 77k Bri 280k Ade 2k Per 8k) Early game 9/GEM
With the late broadcast ratings Fri TV FTA #NRL: 395k (Syd 218k Mel 27k Bri 145k Ade 3k Per 2k) Late game 9/GEM

however this was 2 games combined figures. The Souths V canterbury game rated about 532K
Syd 350k Mel 27k Bri 145k Ade 2k Per 8k) Early game 9/GEM

and the Melbourne V Brisbane game rated about 580K
(Syd 218k Mel 77k Bri 280k Ade 3k Per 2k)

It is a technicality however it is not accurate to state that the Souths V Canterbury game rated 717K. It needs to be called round 12? Friday night broadcast. If you want to pit games V games that would be in some ways fairer (in other ways not fair). But the NRL cant really compete with that sort of format. So I would be happy to pit AFL games V NRL broadcasts. I would like the labels changed to say that it was a broadcast however.

BTW the AFL is about 3 rounds behind the NRL and has 11 of the top 20 broadcasts, even with rep games included.
