The facts are that 1 in 30 Sydney residents have a strong association with the Swans. They either go to the games or watch them on TV most weeks. They have the biggest crowds in Sydney most weeks when they play there and they average the highest crowds in Sydney for any non-rep side. That's a nice little niche.
Are they a threat to RL? No way. All the AFL is hoping to do is increase the amount of supporters over the next 20 years to about from about 3% to about 5-6% of Sydney residence with GWS giving Sydney siders another side to follow.
1 in 30
I make it about 100K on average in 5 Million most weeks
that's
1 in 50
making the swines ........probably last **** all professional sporting teams in the city
thanks for clearing that up

:_<> :_<> :_<> :_<> :_<>
Umm not quite. Sydney population 4.75 million.
Real Swans fans approx 150,000.
If 35k go to the game and 59k watch it on free to air TV in Sydney. Then how many are watching it on Fox? How many are watching it on their phones, lap tops, Tboxes, Xboxes, at clubs, pubs or listening on the radio? How many are working? Going out with friends or are hanging out some where and they are taping the game to watch it later? Fair enough some watching or at the game follow the game or the other team. But if you can get 35k to the game then and about 90k (min) watching on fox/FTA. There are many others who are watching it some other way.
dickhead
Sydney's TV reach & ratings takes in the Central coast almost all the way to Newcastle .... its 5 million
answering the rest of your crap
not many
its approx 1 in 50 in our nations largest city who give give a rats fuck about this the swines , & even less for this abortion of a sport they play
down there with the Sydney Kings for true actual support

:_<> :_<> :_<> :_<>
you & all other fumblers just need to deal with this .... your sport is essentially STILL irrelevant outside of its heartland

:_<> :_<>
So the central coast is now part of Sydney? Sydney's population is 4.75 million. So because the TV covers the central coast this is suddenly part of Sydney.
Stop making a fool of yourself.
well you fumbling fucktards think Canberra is part of Western Sydney
but I'll write slow this time
real slow
fumbler slow
& see if you can keep up ..... ok ?
the ratings ... that's ...... the ratings for Sydney
include ... the Central Coasts 250,000 people
so
the ratings for the Swines that wouldn't beat the jetsons .... also include ratings from the central coast
if you're going to exclude the CC
then you have to drop at least 5% off the Swines Ratings
anyway
its 1 in 50
making them ...ooooohhhh .... about last in our nations largest city

Shhhhhh. ...... Before you make a bigger fool of yourself...... Now quietly slink away..

it funny dave, why is it that sponsorship levels of the swans smash all of the NRL clubs in NSW?
its simple companies pay millions, because they know their brand or product will be seen, if they spent it on an NRL club it would not be.
clinging on to the ratings & being selective
the NRL get smashed, just like in every other department against the AFL
if 70k watch the swans on tv, how many are watching the storm 10k
