that isnt what happened last night. The pies kicked out to a big lead early, the power surged back to a modest margin, the pies kicked away again, then the power came back again. There's no way that was a one-sided contest like your example.

But in the end, who gives a fuck? That's what sport is about, some teams win, some lose, some play well, some dont. You cant manufacture close games. High scoring sports will often result in large winning margins. Low scoring sports will result in more smaller winning margins. If the fans of those sports still follow the sport in spite of these traits where's the issue?

AFL has always had, and will always have, blowout scores. So if you prefer to watch a sport where the lead is almost always in the balance for it to be interesting then Aus Rules may not be your sport.

Fact is though, despite the regular one-sided games, the AFL has no issue at all with support

Nlol FYI, yes there will always be lopsided matches in the AFL, but the problem is, they’ve increased significantly since expansion. And although gws have not thrown their millions upon millions of extra moolah on bad players this doesn’t mean that all is fine. There’s still serious concerns that there’s too many lopsided matches. And as a long time observer of the AFL I can tell you now the issue was nowhere near as prevalent as before expansion.

In short, the AFL completely and utterly fukked up their expansion excercise and they’re now trying to fix it...but I’d say it’s a bit of a lost cause. Atleast the AFL haven’t lost too many fans... yet.

The AFL could dump Gold Coast and bring in tassie. That would help. Gws are also a mammoth money waster but I can’t see the AFL dumping them.
