Fred I'm more than willing to debate things but every time something he doesn't like is said he will pick a peripheral matter and make that the debate. Then he will pester and pester until he thinks he has scored some sort of victory. He does this all the time - if he'd stick to the actual argument it would all go smoothly! Why does that matter. People who follow AFL generally do not care. I play baseball and enjoy it and could not care less how popular or otherwise it is. I like it. Some people play handball and do not care how popular it is.

We have a whole other fully pro comp in the UK...contrary to what you repeatedly claim .
That there are no pro comps anywhere other than the NRL

Is there any place on Earth a fumbler can go & get paid for playing other than Aust?
Anywhere they can earn $1 fumbling a ball


Yes there's a difference between RL & Ru internationally
But whatever the gap is between them would be the same as the gap between RL & AFL internationally .
& no amount of bullshit or frothing & foaming will change that

The Poms have obviously their English clubs in the pro league pyramid, plus Welsh teams in North and South Wales, French teams from Perpignan (Les Catalans) and Toulouse Olympique with Aude Cathars XIII and Sporting Olympique Avignonnais XIII wanting to join, there is also the new Canadian club joining them next season out of Toronto.

Years ago even before fulltime professionalism, the French had teams in their various comps at times from Italy and Corsica with Sardegna (Sardinia) playing at certain times. They also had interest years ago for teams to join from Andorra, Morocco and Algeria. It's not something new, sports have been there done that sort of thing esp Rugby League in its weird and colourful history for years. Most of the time it didn't last long because of the money needed for travel and taking time off work, we've had Russian teams playing clubs premierships games for years against their neighbours in the top teir of Russian Rugby League. The Serbians now how one of their neighbours the Republika Srpska playing in their premiership with Bosnia of all places talking about putting a team or two in.

AFL wouldnt have had much hope of becoming popular until the late 80s/90s with the introduction of cable tv & the internet!
