So lets see if puddycat's but but excuse for lower foxtel ratings on Friday night is true. Like ch9, ch7 will now broadcast the AFL in HD from this weekend. So lets see if the FTA ratings increase and the foxtel ratings decrease.

If I remember correctly and I do, You asked me. As usual you were putting forward the various but buts excuses to somehow how make out the AFL were somehow at a disadvantage because of this somehow :blahblah: :blahblah: And I said to you at the time the Hi Res channel was one of the possibility. I still think it's the most likely. Although it may be that fans have taken a while to get used to the new situation. With a match last round drawing 260k and one the week before drawing 300k.

No, I was pointing out how far ahead the AFL's foxtel ratings were on FNs when both codes are shown in similar conditions. You were the one who made the excuse about ch9 and HD. So lets see if you claim has any merit.

This is because on Saturday 5 games are crammed into 9 hours, and 3 games are crammed into 6 hours on Sunday

As an example the AFLs national audience on Sunday arvo might be 800k but they must choose between two games shown concurrently. So 400k may watch one game and 400k the other, halving the advertising revenue for each media provider. The NRL's audience of 800k watches the NRls 2 games in full because they are shown in isolation.
Ok.....so basically......you lied again. There is 27 hours of rabble ball broadcast. What the hell is wrong with these rabble ballers. They get caught out time after time but they continue to lie, lie, lie. They have no shame these people.

no, you clearly have no idea what 'realistically' means. Of course I know they have 27 hours of games per weekend but by showing all but one game concurrently they effectively have only 18 hours available to their viewers

So Caitlan X.....Man.....you don't lie......but you sure as hell spin and obfuscate. You are so discredited I cannot believe your gall in continuing to post. You're an apologist and propaganda merchant for rabble ball. Everything you say has to be closely fact checked. Nothing you say is straight forward and honest.

You are a voice that cannot be believed.

Its straight forward , the AFL have 4 and a bit FTA matches a week that can be seen by the total 100% of football viewing audience while Rugby League has just 3 . They also have about 5 representative matches throughout the year.

And its GOLD, GOLD, Gold for RL.

Its a very simplistic breakdown. The extra hours are completely misleading when only one game is shown in isolation.

Realistically the AFL have 3 hours on Friday, 9 hours on Saturday (1.30pm to 10.30pm), and 6 hours on Sunday (1.30pm to 7.30pm). This is a total of 18 hours per weekend. The NRL have 16 hours per weekend, and a longer season. Plus they have SOO, internationals and NZ rights. Plus Sydney is by far the most profitable advertising market, and Brisbane is 3rd.

NRL may have a longer season but it also has two byes and 1 week off for the ANZAC TEST

both codes = to 206 games give or take

Yes we have SOO which a 6 hour series lol

Internationals are done by the RLIF and are split separately
for examples 7 for World Cup and 4 nations

Yes Sydney is the biggest advertising market
beats Melbourne by Approx 30%

But when you see 3 Adverts in 1 half of football in the NRL even knowing you are getting 30% more
does it add up to the AFL's Adverts in the Half of football..

the answer is (not even close)

XMAN I will give you a challenge
count the amount of adverts in the next AFL game you watch
and I will count the Adverts in the next game I watch..

you will find AFL will x it by 10 if not more.

The AFL have more ads, the NRL's heartland is in 2 of the top 3 advertising markets in the country. The NRL have more games in prime time. The AFL have longer games. The NRL have 200 games shown in isolation, the AFL about a quarter of that. The factors are nowhere near as simple as games v games

Fri TV #AFL #AFLCrowsCats @7AFL Seven 600k (Mel 419k Ade 181k) 7mate 146k (Syd 34k Bri 23k Per 90k) = 746k metro FTA
Add 248k for regionals (1/3rd metro) = 996k FTA
Plus ri STV #AFL #FoxFooty #AFLCrowsCats 352k [Biggest ratings of year] = 1.348m

Isnt that, again, the biggest rating home and away game of the year for both codes?

Sat TV #AFL arvo Seven 268k (Mel 138k Ade 29k Per 101k) 7mate 56k (Syd 37k Bri 19k)

Sat TV #AFL night Seven 285k (Mel 218k Ade 66k) 7mate 134k (Syd 56k Bri 20k Per 58k)

Look at those perth and adelaide figures
When none of the home teams are playing at night
When combining 3 games in the same slot.
Makes a huge difference

depends who Perth was given on FTA. One game was very one-sided, the other a decent contest.
