Do you seriously think the Minister for Sport and Recreation is going to spend hundreds of millions of taxpayers dollars on new stadium facilities WITHOUT GOING HIMSELF TO HAVE A LOOK?!!!

...and verifying for himself that the figures presented by his Department Head are correct?

Raider, your thoughtless riposte is masterfully underwhelming.

Parra,

The first game of AFL played at SCG was on Monday, August 3, 1903.

A match between Geelong and Carlton. Geelong won by 10 points. My great- grandfather was there.

You may recall, back then, English rugby league was unknown in Australia. The first game of imported English rugby league wasn't played until 20 April, 1908.

And here's a little more history for you, Parra:

The first documented game in Sydney of Australian Football, as the Sydney newspapers called it in the 19th century, was played in 1877.

On that occasion, Carlton travelled north to Sydney and played the Waratah Football Club.

Flanagan's Cup was a vibrant Aussie Rules competition in Sydney in the 19th century. Flanagan was a wealthy Sydney businessman who owned Flanagan's Hotel which stood at the intersection of Oxford St and Liverpool St, DARLINGHURST, where the Burdekin Hotel now stands.

He was a smart operator. After the games, spectators would pour back down Oxford Street and drink in his pub.

Times has changed since the last time you have left the basement moron
There is this thing called occupational health and safety and grounds have been heavily reconfigured since then.

the mcg, scg, Adelaide oval,Gabba & Blundstone area are what they are today is thanks to the AFL

Now we have the government refusing to waste any more money on the nrl for a change as now government spending is now more transparent and government have to be accountable with government funds, meaning your shit ant little league nrlol will not get all those government hand outs like they have had for decades!

Got it! It's simple if you don't get help from your special needs nurae
Same old basement ,special needs jokes .
Try something new ..
& while you're ranting about GOVT handouts ,why do you continually ignore the 2 billion that the aflol got off them for stadia .

http://www.theage.com.au/AFL/AFL-news/w ... d-up-on-It wasn't such a bad outcome for the AFL considering that, on Demetriou's departure after a decade in charge, he had won $2 billion in public funding for the AFL.-journey-to-cas-20150522-gh7bw1.html

Dumbo

Biggest hypocrite on the net .
Continually rants about how bad RL is ,yet ignores when Aflol does the same .

Get a grip on reality .
What two states finally get new stadiums after replacing dated venues built back in then70s mean while in that time the nrl has had an and Allianz built in shitey, Suncorp in Brisbane and all their club grounds built! He'll there are even grounds recently getting up grades that doesn't even have teams based there!

The AFL gets crowds and is growing. The nrl does not and is declining

So as you said spazza get a grip on reality
Lol ANZ was NOT built for rectangle codes .

& you are wrong once again .

According to your lie .all SYd teams had their home grounds built for them by the GOVT since the 79s .

You have NFI about anything .
You just type utter shit ,then ignore when shown how delusiionally wrong you are .

You said ALL Syd grounds .
You're full of shit as usual .

& how much of a hypocrite are you .
The AFlol puts its hand out & gets 2 billion .
Yet if other codes ask for GOVT funding in your insane world they shouldn't get it .
Even thou 3 codes use the rectangle stadia.

Keep deflecting from the fact that you continue to have a shot at RL for doing something that the AFLol are experts at .

Parra,

This is from the Sydney Cricket & Sports Ground Trusts own website:

"1881: The first inter-colonial football match played at the ground was a game of Australian rules football between NSW and Victoria on 6th August."

http://www.sydneycricketground.com.au/h ... -timeline/

So, there you have it from the best authority:
Not only did Aussie Rules beat RL to the SCG, Aussie Rules played the first game of State of Origin, too!

oi dickhead the AFL did not get 2 billion in funding
new perth stadium replacing a death trap stadium in subiaco built decades ago
revamped adelaide oval replacing aami stadium built in the 70s
those are they are pretty much the only stadiums in those cities, that need a half decent venue

its not like they have a load of tax payer funded stadiums like NSW already has for every team that is in the tier 1 of their sport
allianz, ANZ, all the other NRLOL club grounds for starters!

I was giving you too much credit saying you had pig shit for brains .
That article has nothing to do with Vlad gouging 2 billion out of GOVTs .

I will make it very simple .
Go back one page .
Read where I posted proof .
Read where you replied to that post ..

Seriously trying to talk to you is like trying to nail custard to a wall .

You just keep deflecting .

I have posted proof .
Now you find something that says different .

Try to stick to the topic .
