How about proving yourself right for once with a source. Just one source, it's all we ask.

Until then, you remain a useless dunce.

Weren't they talking about it being a sell out? What about all the extra people that turned up because of Sonny Bill Williams? 35k is pathetic

Hmm, yeah been the talk for weeks up here that tonight would be a sellout. Lucky they didn't play at ANZ Stadium as was originally being mooted.

Yes a Thursday night clash at Alliance getting 36k is a bad result......  Last years opener got 29k.......yyyyyyeeeeesssssssssssss.........

Lets be honest if that is a bad result then what do you make of the GWS vs Swans opening game with 2 years worth of promotion?

38k with 2 years promotion on a friday night with plenty of time for people to sleep in and not have to work the next day.

Yeah some perspective would go along way with you lot Fmd............

And on another note these clubs are not 2 of the larger clubs in Sydney, Souths are a big club but the rooters...............

You girls have no idea to be commenting on how big certain NRL clubs are......

lets look at the 35,952 shall we

50% more then the SWines average & a bigger crowd then all bar 1 of their H&A games in 2012
30K more then all bar one Midgets crowd in Sydney in 2012

nearly double both games between these 2 sides last year
great turnout for a thursday night .. work & school on Friday for most people
would have been a 45K sellout on a Sat nite or Sunday arvo =D> =D> =D> =D>

NRL
off to a great start

Hmmm the swans v a brand new team without an established fans base played in a match expected to be a thrashing, out drew the NRLs opening game between 2 of the NRLs most popular team both of which are expected to make the finals!

Is Sydney NRL or AFL heartland? :-k

What an embarrassment!

Just 31,139 at Suncorp tonight. That's gotta be their lowest opening home game in years. Can you imagine how much their crowds will decline by if they have a bad run like the Lions have had? It also seems that their fans are getting sick of having Friday night home games all the time. Unluckily for them, the nRL does not care about their wishes as increased TV $ takes priority in the sport. For shame.

Lowest opening round crowd for the broncos since 2004. Horrible for a single team city or 2 million people [-(

They should really be selling out every game with no other nRL competition in the city.

If the Broncos struggle this year most crowds will be sub 30k, it's funny that it will be the highest of any Nrl club

News limited & their huge pokie venue in Red Hill will make up for the football shortfall and top up their bank balance to 15 mil credit
