it will resolve in the coming season and we will end up with a healthy comp that has at least 2 teams in the biggest 5 states in Australia, and 9 teams or 50% outside the main city in Melbourne.

Where as the NRL is limping along with teams in only 3 states and the vast majority of their teams in the one city.

I know which position id rather be in thats for sure.
Wait 3 states......

NRL 2 countries. NZ AUS
NRL 4 states. QLD, NSW, WA soon, Auckland. population total = approximately 19million
AFL 4 states, with a pop cap of about 9million at best...

Please Xman spare everyone your NRL 2 state propaganda.....

SO youre counting WA? #-o

You havent even got a team there and according to the ARLC may not even have one within the next few years.

Youve got 1 team in Melbourne which is struggling. Youve got all but one Australian team in 2 states.
You play maybe 14 games a year outside NSW/ACT/QLD. The AFL play around 50 games outside its VIC/SA/WA.

Not to mention AFL games being played in Darwin, Canberra, Hobart and Cairns. And likely playing in NZ if St.Kilda get their way!

Hey lads we seem to have all forgot the NRL has a team in Canberra. Not a state I know but for these purposes I think we can count it.

All seasons except for 1976 during the time of zoning. I don't have time to go through them one by one.
This is what the NRL ladder looks like if it were 4 points for a win as in the AFL.

Eel I notice that you didn't correct the NRL ladder to align with the AFL points system.

what a fool. of the 8 teams outside Victoria 2 are in the top 4, another will probably make the 8, two others won a premiership within the last decade and are experiencing the typical rise and fall, and two are brand new.

Try 2001, Eel/idiot!

Top side Essendon 68 points (and didn't win the flag!)
Bottom side Fremantle 8 points

And 2000?

Top side Essendon 84 points
Bottom side St.Kilda 10 points

Living memory huh?
