true, but the article assumed the ratings for last nights game would be 4m. Was their conclusion that SOO is the highest revenue earner based on this incorrect assumption?

Where does every one go for every thing else league? It all falls away rather fast & a long way

35 years is a hellava long time for a gimmick, 107 years of interstate rivalry is also another gimmick that has somehow stood the test of time.

We need more gimmicks, they just don't last like they used too

:?> Doesn't that describe all sports? eg. AFL Grand Final 100k, average for club games 30k. Why is that? - They call it common sense, something you might have trouble relating to.

The AFL have numerous home and away games with crowds in the 70-90k range, so the GF crowd isnt that much different. Where as the NRL rarely get over 40k, so 80k is clearly a long way off reality

Rugby League in Australia never ever played any game at any ground with a capacity of over 70k let alone 80k until the Olympic stadium was built, then after that they moved the two wings to wollongong stadium and reduced its capacity to 83k, so how in the fuck were the rl mob supposed to get those crowds?

They hold all the records for the games played in the stadiums they used anyway.

Your comment is only valid if they sold out their small venues regularly
