so how'd we go last night folks
the big all fumbles n bumbles Melbourne game
FTA 654K , probs under 1.1 mill in total after STV is added
the NRL game from Brisb
FTA 602K
probs over 1.1 mill after STV is added
we're in week 8 now of the 2 codes going head to head nationally , about 26 or 27 games with both codes covering a few more here & there
& I roughly estimate the NRL are up 20 to 6
https://tvtonight.com.au/2024/05/thursd ... -2024.html
That’d be a win for RL for sure due to absolute domination on Fox/Kayo etc. The new ratings system is rubbish. And it sure ain’t the sugar hit the fumbling crowd thought it would be. In fact it’s proving how close the FTA numbers are whilst cementing RLs absolute king pin status on Fox.
It appears to me the the old system was rubbish, the new is worse.

Possibly the most sensible thing you have ever said on this site ineQUOLLity. Well done pal. Either way though RL continues to be the big winner. Some fumblers of course will point to the idiotic reach numbers. But these are only indicative of broadcast time length. They have no bearing on actual popularity.
Go well pal and have a great day.

Poor old fumblers , struggling to accept their sport is clearly a distant 2nd to RL ....
this is due to the ... fact.. that RL has more supporters then the fumbling game in Australia
It must be very embarrassing for them & quite painful that in the only country on the entire planet where their sport is played ... they're 2nd

Pretty much every indicator says Australian Rules is number 1.
The ratings are the only indicator where the AFL is running 2nd and not a distant 2nd.
Strange then that the AFL is paid way more for the vision rights than the NRL and a rise is on the way….hmmm…

Geez ineQUOLLity, you ruin a moment of clarity by reverting to idiocy pal. RL is the most watched sport in the land by a long margin. That's all you need to know.
As far as respective broadcast deals: The fumbling game goes for 1/3 longer than a RL game. And gets paid about 1/3 more. Simple as that pal. And fumblehouse signed up for 7 years that only starts next year. Whilst Peter The Great is about to start negotiations for a new deal for RL. Once that is signed and the fumble deal goes into its long deal RL will again be the winner.
You read it here first pal!!!!!

only a complete moron would consider 30 million more sets of eyeballs each year on TV is not.... distant ..
the the gap in media rights deals will be vast yes from 2025 , if its not addressed by the NRL
& guess what knob
it is
foxtel has been warned , we want the same as that vastly inferior rating fumbling monstrosity gets when we go to 9 games .. which will be very soon
or we walk ...
Ch 9 has been told if it wants State of origin as part of its FTA deal moving forward ... pay up .. or else
then the kiwis will put us ahead overall
sorted , we win again

so
what happened last night folks regarding ratings
we have the fumblers presenting one lot of ratings & pretending they were for one game
but
they weren't they were for 2 games telecast in different markets , with about 2 hrs of overlap
671K on FTA
WA & NSW got one game , the later game , Vic & SA the earlier game .. not sure which game QLD got
but I gotta say , they're very average ratings for 2 games . about 1.3 Million total after STV
the NRL got 571K for its lone game on FTA
a bit over a mill after STV
the early game would have rated very well too on STV.
ch 7 tried its usual smoke & mirrors slight of hand to make it look like it won the night .... it didn't

NRL totally dominant on Kayo. Massive numbers on all Fox platforms for Australia's most watched game!!!!!
