Excuses excuses. Why do did the Wanderers get all that support so quickly??? And they started after the Giants, have less money and play in only one city not two like GWS.
AFL spent millions more promoting GWS. Even doing dirty tactics like banning other codes from playing on AFL grounds. Stealing NRL players that have no interest in AFL. Just the money lol
yet still going shit lol =D> =D> =D>
Why is the wanders success so surprising - 2 mil people in West Syd - many who are immigrants from countries who play soccer - able to draw on a lot of OS players and therefore a bigger pool of talent so they finish in finals without such a HUGE campaign against them by other codes! As for dirty tactics get a grip - RL poached a an AFL player back when the Perth Reds 1st came into the then ARL, besides why is this such a big deal when RL poached RU players for many many years - it is called business! I think you RL people are just feeling threatened that people when presented with a choice won't choose RL - personally it will only affect those who aren't into any sport (which there always is) so in the end what does it matter??

well the giants have done next to jack all and about to over take the wests tigers and penrith panthers for more support in western sydney
60 plus years to build support for the NRL side in NRLOL heart land. four years and some wooden spoons several wins and the Giants are level

In 2013 the Giants made a profit - last year was the first time they haven't - but like the AFL said many times this is a generational decision they are in it for the long haul and success will be looked at over 25 years not the first 5. Unlike the NRL who use clubs like tissues then throw them away regardless of history. E.g. Newtown, North Sydney, SQ Crushers, Perth Reds, Hunter Mariners Glebe, Cumberland, Newcastle Rebels, Annandale, University, Gold Coast Giants, Seagulls, Chargers and who could forget the Adelaide RAMS! That's a whole league of thrown away clubs - South Sydney Sydney's biggest NRL club who's membership is 12k behind the Swans were thrown away only to get back in by legal action! Then there are the clubs destroyed by merger St.George/Illawara, Wests/Balmain. Maybe that's why the NRL in Australuas largest city only get 7k to a match yet the AFL can get 32k because the AFL will stick by its clubs!
well theres profit and then theres actual profit. GWS have a total income outside of grants and loans of 10 million and are nowhere near viable at this point. Last year they took 7 million in additional funding from the AFL - although the leagues budget for the expansion teams appears to still be in hand - they show no sign of being able to stand on their own two feet when the initial budget wears off in 2016. Gold Coast are a lot closer taking only 2 million from that extra budget.
Yes I agree, but every team in NRL, AFL, RU, HAL take distributions from there commissions - and other special payments, which are not all the same - an example was Western Bulldogs being given more money than the Swans last year. The point is living within their means, Prnrith, Raiders, West Tigers run at losses but then get funding from social/hotel club groups. So even though they technically run at losses they still claim profits. But I agree it will be 20 years before the Giants are in the same position as the Swans. This year will be a big year for them thou!

Haha the only thing the Giants will overtake is your tiny mind lol..
I never hear about them.. People in Victoria would know more about the Giants than most Western Sydney residents.
