Seeing as it's Victorian rules, at a guess I'd say, Victoria?
Wrong.

Sorry, I can't read imaginary wiki links.

Anyway, isn't this thread all about the A League soccer eventually becoming second in Australia to the NRL, well that's what the thread title implies?

Wikilinks are imaginary? Wow that's a new deluded line to take. So I guess there's no such domain as wikipedia.org?

So back to topic . As it stands I think soccer could knock nrl off in popularity etc. union is pretty dead at present with a due hard supporter base no doubt. It would still over ride nrl in Vic, tassie, sa, but unsure re w.a. Nrl is the most dominant sport in nsw but not the whole of nsw as the barrassi line attests .. In qld nrl clearly leads the way , particularly in the red neck regional areas where kids still call it gayfl and conversely labeling something "gay" is still seen as a slur. AFL has a strong presence on the Gold Coast .. Easily the number two ball sport behind nrl. AFL is clearly number 1 in w.a, Vic, tassie, s.a, and parts of nsw such as closer to the Murray and brokenhill etc. and has a string presence outside of these areas with Aussie rules leagues in just about every region .. 5 in Sydney for example. Soccer appears to have an even spread across the country without being the dominant code anywhere.

So clearly AFL would even out as number 1 with it being in the top three sportsacross the country.

Nrl has two number 1 positions, a number two in nt, possibly 3 in wa, and would sit behind Gaelic football in Victoria, s.a, and tassie.

Soccer would get a number 2 or 3 in every state I would think And is growing. So not only should the nrl worry ... Maybe the AFL should too ?

skinny weedy effeminate off spring of ex pat sthn mongas fumbling bumbling & missing in the nthn states is no indicator of popularity
the fact that no one watches Vicky kicky from the Murray to cape York ( where most Australians live  ) indicates beyond doubt the VFL is numb 2 overall

the fact the jetsons could ourate this bumbling crap sport in Sydney & just about everywhere else in NSW/ACT & QLD speaks volumes
these are the only things to be considered here twat

Fuck off, Dave! There are AFL clubs in Nowra, Wollongong, Newcastle, Gosford, Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour, Grafton, Armidale, Tamworth, Muswellbrook, Gunnedah, Orange, Dubbo, Bathurst, Goulburn, Cowra, Lismore, Ballina and Byron Bay in NSW and I'm not even including Sydney's multiple clubs in that list! (TY to TLPG and his website for that info!) Queensland? Toowoomba, Dalby, Warwick, Chinchilla, Maroochydore, Noosa, Gympie, Hervey Bay, Bundaberg, Gladstone, Rockhampton, Mackay, Townsville, Cairns and Mount Isa and I'm even including the multiple clubs in Brisbane or on the Gold Coast!!

Beat that!

As mentioned elsewhere ... Denying AFL isn't number 1 is like saying AFL is as big overseas as rl. I said only am idiot would deny this and on cue the forum's resident idiot chimes in in Dave stating exactly that.

How many Gaelic footballers, clubs in Victoria ? I think it may be more than rl ?? It has a number of clubs I think .. At senior level. I think rl would be like nfl in Victoria ... Half a dozen or so teams across the state with one league.

Nfl seems on par with rl in Victoria ... Although more widely spread ... Actually have a team in Gippsland

You can go anywhere in Australia and get AFL on tv and radio and play the game if you choose. Can't say the same for rl or union. Soccer you can too.
