He's right though? Port have a ridiculous stadium deal imposed by the clubs greedy owners, the $NAFL who make it the worst deal in the AFL. The Crows have the second worst followed by some clubs at Etihad Stadium like North. Once a new deal agreement is struck between Port Adelaide FC and the SMA at Adelaide Oval, expenditure will be much less allowing the club to invest more in the football department increasing the chances of better on field performances. =D>

I'm not sure people North of the Barassi line know the extent of the AAMI stadium issue. Port have a breakeven requirement of about 25k spectators. Any less than that and they have to pay the stadium owners (also the owners of the club) a fee. With the exception of the Broncos, there isn't a team in the nRL that would survive under a stadium deal requiring at least 25k people to attend each game.

Compounding the issue is the stadium itself, which is not only delapadated, but also in the middle of nowhere. It's a pain to get to (even with the footy express buses), a pain to get out of, and there is NOTHING around the stadium to do pre and post game (tailgating BBQs notwithstanding). Even the Crows, who have had more success recently and have a far larger supporter base, have been struggling to pack out the stadium as they used to. The move to Adelaide Oval in 2014 will solve both issues (assuming the SMA don't get greedy, and i'm personally not convinced yet that they won't). Corporate hospitality in particular will see a huge increase. Port have one more year to suffer through, and then things should improve for them both in terms of finances and attendance. The rest will be up to Hinkley.
