Please Note: Due to the huge numbers of fans arriving at ANZ Stadium today for Eels v Wests Tigers - kick-off has been delayed until approximately 4:10pm.
Amateur hour...delay the game for the fans to arrive and get in the ground?
Its called Looking after the fans..
The top decks have no one in them - have a look at the MCG that's a real crowd!!!
So the NRL start doing something right with Fans...Promotion ,Day time games etc ,Get a good crowd & still you fumblers are negative.
You were the bloke throwing 6K & 15 K figures around .

Wrong again ..
& I will bet that is bigger crowd than any reg season game the Swans have.
Crowds crowds cwowds cwowds cwowds ,that is the AFL mantra.
Yet RL GETS BIGGER CROWDS IN Syd,the place where the SWANS are proclaimed by the mindless tards on here as the biggest team in the city..
What did the big AFL SYD derby get in comparison to this derby.?

Both their averages are around 23k (with crediting 50k for both today which it should only really be for parra). So again total fail AFLCRAPPER!

The swans average higher crowds than any Sydney NRL team despite playing almost every game against interstate teams with few supporters attending. The only way the NRL in Sydney get decent crowds is when two large Sydney teams play each other, and it appears it also requires a public holiday.

Today was a good result for the NRL, but further highlights the farce that is their regular home and away crowds in Sydney

You are kidding.

They play collington & (from what I read on BF) 10K of the crowd are travellers.

Most games get plenty of travelling fans.

So why don't Penrith, Parra, Bulldogs, South Sydney, Manly, Roosters, WT, Cronulla and St.George get that every Sydney game - all it proves is AFL fans are willing to travel and RL aren't!

Collingwood is one team. What about 25k against the dockers whose supporters are 5hrs flight from Sydney?

And you highlight another NRL failing. You claim AFLs interstate fans add to the swans crowds. Well Whats wrong with Broncos, Titans, Raiders, Warriors or Storm fans? NRL fans refuse to drive across Sydney FFS

Can someone here tell me honestly how well would the Swans crowds & memberships be if they were on a level playing field with other teams( :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ Not going to happen in a compromised comp).
If they had the same $$$ as everyone else & not given extra $$$ & they had limited success ,how would they fare.

I suppose you could ask the same questions about the storm who were bankrolled for years by the competition owners. The swans averaged 35k crowds in 1997 despite never winning a GF in their 15 years in Sydney. The swans have only been in 4 GFs in 32 years, only winning 2. Their success pales in comparison to hawthorn or Geelong

But the STORM never had LEGALISED cheating by being given a higher salary cap than any other team ,to ensure their success.

They didnt need to. The cost of living in Melbourne is less than Sydney so they already had an advantage when retaining players in an expansion city

50k at the NRL. Good crowd of course but it begs the question, the supporters are obviously there. Where are they week after week? Why are these decent crowds so far and few between? Are NRL fans simply bandwagoners who attend public holidays only?
Also begs the question, is ANZ Stadium really hated so much by RL supporters or is it just an excuse for the usual poor crowds there?

Same happened last year yet by the end of the season the crowds had dropped. I guess you don't want to talk about the three 9-10k crowds over the weekend

How bout i answer your question with another question...
How many home games do GWS have at olympic park this time of year?

Imaget

The Sydney Royal Easter show is on atm, so the monster trucks are ripping up the turf, while those last few thousand seats in the stands still with clear protective covering on them have surely been peeled away and have had actual patrons sitting on them, wow!

The NRL were smart to organise a game on easter monday between two western sydney clubs, fans who were already in the area visiting the easter show could walk across the road and watch their team play.

ANZ stadium is disliked by supporters of all codes, all basically for simular reasons, what was the 'excuse' for the MASSIVE BLOCKBUSTER ,BATTLE OF THE BRIDGE, SYDNEYS BIGGEST RIVALALRY, SOON TO BE AUSTRALIAS BIGGEST RIVALRY, WITH THE NEXT COLLINGWOOD to be moved away from ANZ?? surely Spotless stadium is way too small for a game as big as the swans vs giants soon to be called the WORLD SERIES ROUND OF GLOBALLY ADORED AFL WORLD CUP?
